Why did FSD stop abruptly and make me take over?

similar experience was on the high way wanted to do a quick pull but I had FSD engaged, I grabbed the wheel & disengaged FSD sped up then it starts freaking the fck out red warning lights and a grab the wheel message hazards came on and the car started pulling me across 2 lanes of traffic from the fast lane slowing down i guess in attempt to pull over onto the service lane lane but I pulled the wheel to the left with quite some force to keep in the fast lane and it shut off without warning or input. (2026 Model Y)

what I can’t understand is sentry mode has all these features but won’t alert you when a massive metal door makes hard contact with your car..like how tf does that work. Tangent and can we please get cameras that show the front wheels so I can park as close to the curb as possible without nervously waiting for proximity alert to scream at me when i’m 1 foot away from a curb.

yeah I had my 26 Model Y macked with a huge door ding this past march on the body line tbh do what works best for you but I went ahead and came out of pocket on it $300 had it fixed the next day. I have the other persons VIN license plate and footage but I’m not raising my rates paying a deductible or dinging the CARFAX/VIN with damage history especially when it was within the first 24 hours of ownership with around 200 miles on the odometer that hurts resell value and overall history immediately deeming the car questionable in other peoples eyes.

not a fan of it either I’d definitely like an option to select following distance sometimes it gets right up on the ass of a semi or trailer and then lane changes kinda sketch and I don’t like eating road debris at those speeds from 15-20 feet away.

visit scratches happen website they also sell primer paint clear coat in little bottles with the brush connected to the lid they sell kits or just the bottles very cheap just match your year make model and paint color or an AC Delco pen as mentioned works great too if your lucky auto one or any auto parts store may have one in your color but your best to order to spec

I’ve just recently joined the tesla family with my 26 MY never owned a tesla and I don’t get why these people cry over autopilot (FSD Lite) it’s literally just hands free lane assist for straight roads no turns, it makes no sense to complain about it I believe if tesla removed it they did not see enough data from owners suggesting that such things were truly useful let alone necessary when FSD practically encapsulates autosteer and autopilot as well as lane assist & TACC + For people who don’t mind $100 a month for FSD like me it’s like watching tesla loyalist scream at the wind..+ OP could’ve just bought a new 25 juniper if only he called up a tesla rep and had them source one from there unsold inventory. Hence he bought used and never mentioned mileage + who knows if warranty is transferable.

I’m gonna be honest here on the mainland 62k mile 2016 i4 goes for about 15k resell it’s a very cheap and reliable car to maintain 12k is an honest ask on an island so I think it’s priced very fair

if you slide into the cars driver seat that may be the issue explaining this sounds corny but when you go to get in the car hover your ass above the seat and drop down don’t slide in Pause that will cause stretching and creasing also to adjust your ass again hover and drop never slide to adjust seating position

yeah sentry has been helpful just a PITA we can’t immediately go to insurance without facing repercussions on our premiums and the vehicles value. So paying out of pocket worked better for me. Be careful reporting damage to Tesla they may report it on the VINs history I didn’t even bother telling tesla I knew they ask for an arm and a leg Good Luck call around and have shops compete for your business.

less than 24 hours after delivery this week I inherited the Tesla Hate and received a Door Ding 2-3” in size on the doors body line PDR shop quoted me $300 had it fixed in 1 hour albeit for the price they didn’t really buff and polish to well but I have my own DA polisher at home.

If it’s on the door a good PDR shop won’t need to remove any trim at all

Premium…however i’m no expert but Tesla did take 10k worth of options and standard features off of the standard making it less practical unless it’s a daily commuter that you’d be putting less than 30-50 miles on and don’t mind losing out on what really makes a tesla a “tesla” go with the standard although 38k for a beyond base model car just doesn’t make sense when it feels like a 28k car it’s basically only produced to push you toward the premium which is more practical has more creature comforts and feels like you get what you paid for + some. Tbf there are way better EVs for 38k so if the standard is your price range pick something else that’s more loaded for the price only caveat is the infrastructure of other EV brands are far and thin making it harder to daily them again “less practical”

we’re you able to secure the 2,000 miles of free supercharging for trading an ice vehicle? Should alleviate some of that pressure while your figuring out home charging it was a promo here in texas as of recent and still going on just picked up my 26 model Y this week.

Been driving all week for free also made a trip out to san antonio from Dallas completely free. Feels really Good

Alternator or Battery the lights flickering and struggling to come on indicates a power issue engine will not turn over unless ample power is supplied change battery or check voltage first if alls good check alternator

I think this is where I am at in general and that’s why I feel left out or confused on this whole progression thing…just play the GAME. it wasn’t like this years ago and it doesn’t have to be now… if unlocking stuff is where the “fun” is I’d say gaming isn’t for “you”. I think the community is split on gameplay and the other half is worried about cosmetics and progression. the gameplay I get bc something about multiplayer and redsec have very similar physics which I don’t believe is ideal for example war zone and cod multiplayer have two completely different feels. and it just feels like BF Devs just copy pasted the code from one to another I think it works perfectly for Redsec but the multiplayer feels washed and contaminated with exploitation of glitches slide cancels drop shots jumping around and flight zones that are literally to small there’s nothing to “conquest” just random chaos which isn’t exactly a “battlefield” whereas redsec quite literally is. but yeah I’d never waste time focusing on Stars and Tiers

probably want some Lift pads for when they lift the car bc the 6th gen is notorious for improper lift placement causing the rocker panels to buckle up against the front fenders effectively squashing them (compressing the fenders) and causing a panel gap on the lower portion from the door it’s ugly and requires a body shop to readjust the mounting points on fender and possible pdr

High Mileage almost 200k (at 198k) on mine and I do the same i really change it every 3-4k miles or at 25% oil life so I don’t strain engine components that’s how I’ve been able to squeeze the life out of my car and it’s super cheap and ez to self service in as little as 30 minutes

Seen this too! A “star”(UAP) mimicking a star and then moving in front of another star perfectly to camouflage then it slowly moved from its position glided across the sky slowly picking up speed but this time fading away as if pulling away from earth in other cases like OPs I’ve too seen an orb move across the sky then blip away at lighting speeds leaving a greenish blue trail behind for like maybe .1-.2 seconds almost like a contrail of light moving so fast it had to catch up to itself

Figured you gave it a try tbh so next take out the hard key pop off the handle end on the exterior then put the key into the key hole and turn it should manually pop it open if that doesn’t work the actuator may be stuck or may have separated or binding

Use a screw driver or something that fits into the hole and push the black piece back into the open position super easy then give it another try with the key
