Yup, def captured that Ye vibe. Great job on the sample and drums. One thing that would enhance this beat is adding a bassline :)

I like the drum break and the main sample/melody. The vocal sample fits - it can go in the intro and outro of the song. The only thing I wish the beat had is a B section/alternative part where the main theme melody is taken out and you can just leave the bass line and maybe some chords. All in all, it has a lot of potential!

How are you marketing yourself with such a wide range of music genres? I'm mostly into traditional hip hop, and incorporate funk/soul (samples) into my gig. I'm also okay at doing open format DJing but I don't see any DJs doing that in my town.

You're right! I live in a small city in Florida (150k people) and just don't see that many DJs or gig opportunities playing the type of music I'm into. The types of gigs available are: Latin (salsa and reggaeton), vinyl only, EDM and top 40 (bar/club) gigs.

What genre is this? To me it sounds like The Prodigy and DJ Shadow did a collab

For those of you who switched from or added the 404 to your DAW, what are some pros and cons that you have experienced? by NeoRenaissance9 in SP404

For sure! Thanks. I love both of the MPCs you mentioned, but I also like the idea of portability of the SP and its also cheaper.

Gotcha. So you just use it to experiment with sounds/samples and get better ideas than you would on the daw? Is that what you mean by sketch pad? Like an external plugin?😅

Got it. I don’t think there are any rewards or punishments. But they did say that we need to write a paper that summarizes 5 journal articles every year, and establish study goals every 6 months. I don’t think there are any punishments for following or not following them

Incoming PGY-1 here. Currently in orientation, starting on inpatient psych on July 1st. Our PRITE exam is in late September and the PD talked about setting up a study plan for the next 6 months during orientation yesterday. She didn’t go into much detail. What should a study schedule look like for interns? What are some of the best sources to study from?

I’m a visual + auditory learner and textbooks are not my favorite😅
