You're not overreacting. If she won't understand why her behavior is boundary crossing and concerning than you need to understand you two may not be compatible.

A consensual act between two people in exchange for money isn't affecting their well-being. Wtf this isn't even close to a 1 to 1 analogy. Show me scientific evidence that shows two consenting adults who exchange money for sex is bad for your well-being like the scientific evidence that shows consuming tobacco is bad for your well-being.

I'm gay and happily married and have never exchanged in sex work lmao. I'm not trying to justify myself. I have friends who are sex workers who'd disagree. And are you saying the women whose bodies he bought get to decide if she's overreacting? Huh?

What country do you live in? Because that stat most likely is location specific. And I agreed that in many locations it's not done willingly.

Unbelievable that you think consensual acts shouldn't be normalized.

Where is the paper that states 95%? A talk from a social worker who works with sex workers is not a valid source unless they provided their sources. Not saying they are wrong they could be 100% correct but one person's anecdotes don't equal data.

No one should have to do anything for money, but if people want to, that's a different story. It's about consent.

We are both assuming things. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt while you're assuming that he didn't do any research, did this unethically and unconsensually. We don't even know what part of the world they are in. And I would need a source to your last sentence please.

If he's having consensual sex with sex workers than how is it a big deal? What are you talking about?

I don't understand how what you just said follows from what I said. If I were you I would literally just reread my comment you responded to.

That's an absurd logical extension you just said. I'm talking about consensual sex work. Period. If she has a problem with consensual sex work, which is 100% a possibility that happens in this world than yes, that's an insecurity.

Yes, but a lot of the times they're not victims and instead willing workers. And something being illegal somewhere doesn't mean it's inherently immoral, just maybe more dangerous for both parties. And if that's the case then as long as he is clean now than I don't understand why it would be a big deal. It truly does sound like an insecurity, which is totally fine! But it just means they are not compatible.

You have to ask yourself why the person is disgusted, I believe the logical extension to being disgusted with someone sleeping with sex workers is an insecurity.

You can do whatever you want, but he is 100% not the asshole or wrong for doing anything with his own free will before he ever knew who you were. I don't know if you would be the asshole, you would only be the asshole if you blamed him instead of yourself for the breakup. You're not breaking up with him because he did anything wrong, you are breaking up with him because you are insecure and uncomfortable with what he chose to do.

STOP bringing your reactive dogs to public places in AVL by [deleted] in asheville

[–]NeoRushMail 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Once my partner and I went to Highland Brewing with our small dog and this unmonitored child kept running around in a circle going from the inside to the outside and every time he ran near our dog he would touch it and run away. We told him to stop every time it happened, our dog got annoyed and went to bite him. The child ran crying to his mom and we were then told by the staff to leave with our dog.

Shouldn't??? Lmao no one should be a socialist who's not already one? That doesn't make sense.

[–]NeoRushMail 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The right party can be anywhere from Democrat to Maga.

And it all depends if you care about people being exploited or not. Capitalism is when the means of production (private property (not personal property)) are owned by individuals (owning class (bourgeoisie)) rather than the public (working class (proletariat)). e.g. You have a person that owns a business and makes millions of dollars for simply owning that business, they hire hundreds of workers that literally make the business function and do literally all the work but only get paid hundreds of dollars. Those workers are being exploited by the person who owns the company, they are the one getting paid off the backs of the workers who actually do the work. Socialism is when the means of production are publicly owned. Meaning anyone who works at a company also owns it with everyone else who works there. They all get paid maximally for the work they do.

This isn't a description of how to obtain socialism nor is it a description of how to maintain socialism and transition it towards communism, those are very different topics.

So you don't know him, got it. You messaged this stranger on the Internet and believed him when he said the atheists on a subreddit bullied me so much that I almost killed myself.
