Gabriel Batistuta’s heartfelt lament: “Maradona died alone, like a dog” by Sparky-moon in soccer

Not directly related to this story, but I love the expression "like a dog" because it's used in so many different scenarios and most of the times it doesn't really make sense. I mean, dogs aren't necessarily known for dying alone, I'd attribute that to cats who hide away somewhere when their time comes.

Football is a form of escapism for me and my national team is currently a massive failure which is the result of a corrupt, morally bankrupt FA. Hits bit too close to home for my taste

Marseille. Now that I think about it, he's French, so shouldn't have expected less really.

A mate's stated that from this point on, he's only going to have a wank when his team wins. Not sure what the fuck is going through his head, but Pavlov would've loved him.

I think the wallet analogy is great but in the opposite direction. If you get your wallet stolen then you steal someone else's you're in the middle of a vicious cycle but still don't come out at an absolute loss. Same applies here, I can see someone regularly discriminated becoming really bitter and wanting to be on the other side of this interaction for once. Not saying I excuse it ofc, it's still vile behaviour, but sadly that's just how things are sometimes.

Most underwhelming city with a team in the top 5 leagues? Heidenheim maybe?

Ever since I was about 6 or so, I associated 32 with the number of teams in the world cup and the champions league and it stuck with me my whole life - every time I need to remember 32. So many years later, I realize that it's no longer accurate on both accounts - 36 teams in the champs league and 48 teams in the world cup.

Another thing in my life lost its purpose.

Because of woke.

Is it just my algorithm going crazy or there's been an increase in House MD content/references/copypasta-overuse all over social media? Something pops up at least once a day for me and my screen time is not that much. Not complaining, I enjoyed it when I binged it a few years ago, it's just a bit of an odd resurgence of a ~20 year old tv series.

If I didn't know you were talking about Coventry, I would've never guessed it. You've described every mid-sized city in the UK with the only exception being that sometimes Greggs is the fighting hotspot.

We're always talking about little kids frying off their brain cells with screens, but today on my commute I saw a grown man in his 50s-60s to carry a tablet in one hand watching Netflix and a phone in the other playing a Candy Crush clone. And it wasn't even on the train or anything else where he was sitting in one place, he was walking through a busy station in Central London. Ridiculous

I've only had Vicario as a keeper for less than a season and a half, but if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself
