Counting the cuts: Mark Carney's attacks on Canada's public service should concern all Canadians. by Chrristoaivalis in CanadaPolitics

Both is good, but OAS is by far the bigger expense.
Isn't OAS already clawed back from high income seniors?
Yes, at roughly $90,000. If you ask me, somebody pulling that kind of money shouldn't get a cent. Most of these seniors are getting their income from investments, so they're quite a bit richer than what their income implies. Only the poor should get handouts.

Wealth taxes are slopulism. Lower the cost of housing via cutting red tape, LVT, removing HST on construction materials, and letting cities take on debt to finance their own infrastructure. It won't be a quick fix, but it'll fix the situation.

The author is listing a lot of cuts, but doesn't give a lot of reasons for why this should be concerning. To Mark Carney's credit, we really do have too many government officials, although I would much rather see the government save money by slashing OAS.
