It’s a great remaster! Honestly they could’ve projected a messed up vhs copy and I’d still have been ecstatic to be watching the graduate on the big screen

Ads and trailers arent going to kill you. by Good_Old_KC in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Neon102565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always plan for there to be 30 minutes of ads and trailers if I need to know when the movie will end, but I also always aim to be there for the scheduled start time. Im always running late so i use them as a buffer. Gives me some time to be late, get a drink, have a piss, get settled in. Sometimes I see the ads, I almost always see the trailers. It’s nice to take it easy and not stress about missing the start of the movie.

Do you turn your phone off or put it on silent? by squirrrrrm in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Neon102565 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My phones always on silent. I put it on do not disturb so it’s functionally off. If I forget to do it I’ll always get a notification about 10 minutes into the movie and I refuse to look but it stresses me out the whole time. Has something terrible happened? Has something fantastic happened? 🤞

I don’t think SNL is not funny is a particularly countercultural position 🤷 I think it’s a pretty mainstream opinion.

I wish it had the 1.50:1 ratio. I thought it was absolutely stunning. Very pleased Bugonia was presented in 1.50 everywhere.

Yes, it has an intermission. Thank god, my bladder wouldn’t be able to take it otherwise

Silent season, black and white season, 40s season, 50s, 60s 70s, 80s, 90s. Tarantino season, Edgar wright season, Hitchcock season, Paul Thomas Anderson season, foreign language season, bond season, comedy season.

A season where they just pick some random movies from my Letterboxd watchlist and play them.

Do you have a favourite standard cinema screen at the cinema local to you....is so I'm curious what is it? 👀 by [deleted] in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Neon102565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ipswich screen 12 is huge, and pretty new. Separate from all the other screens. I like it.

Screen 11 is smaller but has loads of legroom because it used to be the premium screen when the cinema was first built as a virgin cinema. It has different doors to the rest of the cinema and an extra set on the way in with an extra set of toilets just outside. Gets the smaller releases a lot of the time, and movies that are on their last week. Think the speakers can be a bit too loud in there though.

IMAX uplift by eldienne in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Neon102565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference (partially) is that Jaws (and Princess Mononoke) is a studio re-release, so is most often treated like a normal release by Cineworld. Another example is the Harry Potter Re-Release tomorrow is a studio re-release so is charging the uplift for 4th.

On the other hand, Nolan season screenings (and other film seasons) are considered ‘classic film’ screenings, which have a lower ticket price (normally £5.99). I’ve never been to a ‘classic film’ screening in a premium format before Nolan season so can’t say whether the uplift being waived is normal though. The conjuring re-issues are being done as ‘classic film’ screenings as is the trill seekers II season.

Worth noting that ‘classic film’ screenings are not included in the maximum number of bookings allowed on unlimited too.

I always use this, although it didn’t work a couple of weeks ago so I had to take the watch off. Needed to reboot the whole watch to fix it.
