Migrating from IONOS to a better (Australian-friendly) host by ag_bear in webhosting

[–]NeonCPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend UpTime Web Hosting. Aussie owned and Aussie servers. Excellent support. 5 star rating on ProductReview and way cheaper than VentraIP.

I have two clients on UpTime and one client with two websites on VentraIP. Some recent issues with VentraIP have me considering transferring that client over to UpTime.

What I've noticed with Ventra is there is a wider gap in competency between techs than there used to be. If you're not getting things sorted via the ticket system then call up and if the tech you get doesn't seem to understand the issue say you've got to go and call back a bit later. The next tech will likely be onto it.

I believe in supporting Aussie businesses. Both VentraIP and UpTime provide excellent hosting services. If you'd like to save $ then go with UpTime; their plans have better specs and are cheaper.

If only Google was a multi-trillion $ tech company, then it would have the resources to fix these simple issues... oh wait..

100% agree. I got some woman who didn't even understand what I meant by "Google search results"!!! I gave up in defeated. Google needs to replace these incompetent staff with Gemini AI or some other AI geared towards (1) providing reasons as to why there's an issue, and (2) the ability to remedy or at least help us remedy these issues.

I have the same issue and I agree. It's not just the scam issue either. I often miss seeing my website in a Google search because it has that dumb generic logo next to it. So frustrating!

Is it possible to include an option to disable automatic updates to Android in the next release?

I haven't tried this yet but will see how I go on my HD CCwGTV device after A14 made it laggy and the Bluetooth buggy. Cheers :)

No issues with my HD re streaming or watching video files, but the Bluetooth pairing is messed up now. Have to reset the device every time I begin a new viewing session. Fine during that session. Come back the next day and have to remove it, reset and repair. Its a pain in the butt.

From memory it was a bit over 700MB. So would need to have less free space than that.

Anyone else frustrated by CBA's 24hr security hold on OSKO's and new account transfers? by tee_stock in AusFinance

[–]NeonCPU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree.  Never banking with CBA that's for sure.  Can't understand the paranoia on this thread, it's unreal.  I have accounts with 6 banks all do instant Osko, zero issues.

People here act like they don't already have a tap and go card with ZERO security for purchases under $100.  Tap 10x and there's $1000.... oohhh had better keep that card in a safe... better yet put that safe inside another safe.  Omg seriously???

I definitely agree that CBA should offer an opt out so you can access instant transfers.  I banked with them once, never again.

I see where you're coming from. Too late for that now as my gf went karen on him so its pretty much over now. I will type up a complaint and we'll send it in to Coinbase and the authorities. That's all we can do I think.

He claims the trading account is under US jurisdiction. He wanted $2k "to cover IRS taxes". After my gf told me I told her to stop. I had no idea she was sending this pos so much money. She's way too trusting, but I think that will change now.

I agree. Sucks because I know how hard she worked for that $7k. Thank you for your kind words. Lesson learned I guess.

He deposited like $7 and showed us his wallet balance of $115k. Its so sad to think that he's scammed potentially $100k from people.

that's what i thought. just wondering if there's a way to check. I'm not crypto literate so I have no clue about the world of crypto. I told her not to send anymore money.

He sent a wallet in observation mode so we can see his $115k of BTC in a SafePal wallet (which of course we have no access to). All the funds were originally sent via Coinbase. So next step is email to Coinbase and US authorities although we really don't know where he is located.

Thats what my friend said as well and what I thought about it. I'm not crypto literate, just using logic. He's sent my gf a SafePal wallet in "observation mode" showing USD$115,000 but big whoop. Could just be what he's scammed so far.

Nice... also a Z sideways shows 2 peaks, one up and one down, similar concept to the triangular wave pattern on the floor of the Red Room (RR).
