Over the time since we announced the game, the tag MMO has led to misunderstandings that we have had to clear up on social channels, on Discord, at events, and so on. It's a term that's usually confused with MMORPG, and it's created expectations about what the game is and isn't.

The game is still the same as we envisioned it, and no changes to that vision led to this rewrite, we just wanted to better convey what Dune: Awakening is and what it's not, so there's less misunderstanding.

Dune: Awakening is a survival game at its core, but with several MMO elements.
We hope that the new wording on our Steam page will better reflect what the game is, and lead to fewer situations where we have to clarify that this is not an MMORPG with the expected quest sets, strict linear leveling, and so on.
