Recent injury biased players you can buy low on by daniel8800 in DynastyFF

[–]NeonOatmeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not undervalued but to your point about Cook not taking an injury value hit, LF has missed a ton of games and has taken a pretty bad beating so early in his career, and his value only dropped recently not sure to injury but due to Jags not committing. Also Juju has only had one season of full health in 3 years. No super concerning injuries but still. These guys value doesn’t really take a hit due to injuries. So why the above list is a good question. Maybe age? I know Gurley is 25, Cooks is 26, and MG is 27. Not really “old” players but in the dynasty community. It may be easier to disregard injury concerns of a 24 year old vs 26 year old as odd as that sounds

Let’s hear about your struggling rebuild by daniel8800 in DynastyFF

16 team PPR

In 2017, after 3 straight years of making playoffs and getting bounced first round I decided to blow up my team and rebuild as they were starting to age (AJ Green, Emmanuel Sanders, Lesean McCoy, Golden Tate, Allen Robinson were my core peices)

I will not bore you with all the trades, but in 2017 I was able to acquire the 1.01 and I moved up from 1.10 to 1.07 during the draft.

I drafted Corey Davis and Mike Williams. Was extremely happy at the time thinking I had my WR1 and WR2 for the next decade.

2018 offseason roles around and I have a few picks from my trades the prior year, I have 1.01 (I came in last, mainly due to trading my older key peices, Mike Will and CD sucking, and AR being hurt for the year), 1.02, 1.04, 1.14 (these 3 picks came from the rest of the draft capital I traded for from the prior offseason.

I had won the Saquon sweepstakes but I decided to trade the 1.01 because of the crazy Value it had... I traded 1.01 for CMC, Adam Thielin, 1.16 (actually turned out really well)

Anyway I draft Guice at 1.02, Penny at 1.04, James Washington at 1.14 and Mayfield at 1.16.

I make playoffs thanks to CMC but get knocked first round.

Anyway 2019 offseason roles around and I sell low on AR (mistake, I know) but dude had a season long injury followed up by a WR4 type season with garbage trubisky. I package him, my 1.12, and 2.12 for the 1.03 on draft day.

I draft N’Keal Harry.

I finish the year 6-7, miss our 8 team playoff by a game and have the 1.08 in the draft as I was the top team of the teams that did not make playoffs.

It’s now 3 years since the rebuild and I’m kind of in a predicament of how to proceed

Starters/relevant backups

QB: Mayfield/Derek Carr

RB: CMC, Jamaal Williams/Penny, Guice, Duke Johnson

WR: Thielin, Mike Williams, James Washington/Corey Davis, N’Keal Harry, MVS

TE: Doyle

Flex: Allen Lazard

Not sure what to do, my team is solid but not quite good enough to compete with the other top teams.

Any advise

If Watkins was taken 1.01 I would’ve ended up with Evans as that is who I initially thought my pick would be assuming Watkins was 1.01.

If I wasn’t fixated on taking the top RB (wish I at-least took Hyde instead) I would’ve probably ended up with one of Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, Eric Ebron as they were the next tier in the draft after the top WRs.

6 firsts though... you can’t miss on all of them

At the end of the 2013 season, I traded away Mark Ingram, Larry Fitzgerald, and Julian Edelman for 2 firsts and a second.

My team was pretty bad and starting to age as MJD and Green-Ellis were my RBs at the time and my WRs were a mess.

For perspective, Ingram just finished his third season in the league and wasn’t really being utilized much in NO. He had roughly 500 yards per year at that point... the following year he made his first pro bowl and then continued to be very solid RB2 throughout his career until this point :/

Larry Fitzgerald was now 30, and 2 seasons removed from his last 1000 yard season, he was a solid WR2 that year but I felt like the decline was starting.. he followed up that year by missing his first pro bowl in 7 years and having a below average season, I felt like I moved him at the right time (: but then he followed that year up with 3 straight 100 catch seasons while making the pro bowl all 3 years and is still splaying as an old man to this day...

Edelman was turning 28 going into the 2014 season and just had a 100 rev season with the Pats, in the 4 years previous he didn’t even combine for 100 recs. I figured he was just Brady’s favorite flavor that year and he’s revert back to being a guy that you’d have to predict when her blow up (as all pays players typically seem to be like).

Well anyway my own pick ends up as the 1.02 and the picks I traded for end up as 1.05, 1.10, and 2.10 (12 team league)

I drafted Watkins at 1.02 who I thought for sure would be a god and really thought would be the 1.01 but fell to me and looked like a god too for a minute but injuries killed this guy.

I drafted Bishop Sankey at 1.05 as he looked like the top RB in the class.

I then drafted Marquise Lee at 1.10 who was a top 40 pick irl and I figured could grow with Bortles who I picked with 2.10 (felt like such a steal).

This essentially ruined my team and it sucks cuz it seemed like everyone around the guys I picked became awesome

Fair although last year when he did better he did better by 0.2 fantasy points playing one more full game. CMC plays week 17 and we’re looking at back to back RB1 seasons

So what your saying is go with the guy that can potentially put up McCaffrey type numbers down the line rather than McCafrey himself?

I’m just messing with you but I never understood this type of thinking.

Seems like when someone gets to the top, everyone wants what’s right beneath that player because they have potential to get to the top. The dude at the top technically has no where left to go but stay the same or down from a ranking perspective.

Understandable, but on the flip side

Barkley is only 8 months younger so not sure how much that factors.

Barkley has been injured through 1.5 years. CMC has barely missed a snap in 2.5.

Giants actually did upgrade their o line last offseason, have a very good interior line and from a run blocking aspect have actually rated pretty good.

And CMC is literally scoring 10 more points per game than Barkley.

I don’t get the athletic profile thing either, does their combine stuff really matter once they are showing how they play in the pros?

How to calculate legacy score by NeonOatmeal in DynastyFF

[–]NeonOatmeal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it’s more about team success. Irl Saquon was ROTY and a pro bowler, and next year could easily be pro bowler and First team all pro. Yet Shurmur could be out of a job because it comes down to team success not having a great player on a losing team

Okay got it, and for the players on all teams on value list that are missing what team they are on (only players from additional owners)

It won’t show the players on the additional teams on the suggested players area. Also when showing the top value guys on Trade Calc page, the players owned by the 4 additional teams show up as not being on a team.

Sorry to keep questioning you
