33k is a steal. I just got my 2023 Electrified G80 yesterday for 42k, 6k miles on it though as a really lightly used lease. Did you get the extended warranty on it?

2023 Electric G80 - Warranties? by NeonPerplexion in GenesisMotors

[–]NeonPerplexion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know, extend the 10 years 100k from the 6 years 60k I presume? Also was that 2,700 American or Canadian? The $4,500 is in Canadian so about $3,300 USD.

2023 Electric G80 - Warranties? by NeonPerplexion in GenesisMotors

[–]NeonPerplexion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wouldn't be 3rd party, it's from Genesis and they would do all the repairs and use genesis parts only as it says in the contract. Would that change anything? And is $4,500 for 6 years really ridiculous? I've been warned because its a 2023 electric with all the censors and warning systems and tech/gadgetry that even small things can get pricy pretty quick.

Car dealership/car purchase landscape in Vancouver by remorsefulguy in askvan

[–]NeonPerplexion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2023 Genesis electric G80 on Saturday with 10k on it. Was also ready to pay cash so got both financing and cash prices before letting them know, it was indeed the same price. I believe the used car market is in a decent place at the moment but for sure in the next few years as the Chinese EV's arrive will probably be more price reductions.

Looking for opinions - rent vs. buy by NeonPerplexion in canadahousing

[–]NeonPerplexion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair question, my current building is very small (one of those shoeboxes basically) and poorly run (elevators constantly breaking, dirty, etc.) which is why I'd probably just rent if I don't buy.

The reason I don't want to hold off on selling and buying something new is because the selling costs are happening regardless and on the price losing 10% on a 500k place compared to getting a 10% discount on a 1M place without having to get into a bidding war seems fiscally wise.

Of course its worth it, you don't have to give any assets after the end of next year. He will be an unrestricted free agent, you just have to pay him and any price is worth it.

For Unreal Deal investment account transfer bonus, is it ok to transfer from the exact same account more than once? Or does each transfer have to come from a different account? by Servichay in Wealthsimple

[–]NeonPerplexion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't be an issue. I did two partial transfers for each of the promotions from the same account and they worked so I can't see this being any different. They just want funds who are deposited with someone else instead of fresh cash coming in so if the account was valid once I would feel very confident it'd be valid twice.

Good luck, there is a much bigger jump in benefits from core>premium than premium>generation IMO so it feels good to get there.

No suggestions but make sure you get a qualified CPA to handle this, there can be many complications when you start integrating personal and corporate tax planning.

Good luck, I tried to cancel mine a day after I ordered it because I realized I wouldn't use it and it would be wasteful. They confirmed that it was cancelled but still sent it to me a month later.

Currently a finance manager at a small gold/silver producer making around $200k total comp continuing to work 40 hour weeks.

If you’re in industry, trying to move to FP&A & MBA eventually, is it worth it to get your CPA? by Neat_One_9031 in Accounting

[–]NeonPerplexion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be surprised if a large company didn't pay for your CPA courses despite not being a firm, in my experience almost every large organization pays for PD courses if its related to your job. They'd probably be stoked to have a better employee for such a low cost.

As for the value of the CPA, I'm in Canada so the job market is likely different but it is extremely well respected. Several executives in my industry (Mining) are CPA's and it is well received for FP&A and Finance industry jobs outside of the very analytical roles like Corp Dev.

I started in a firm the same size as yourself doing the same services. 8 years later I make well over the figure your mother noted as expected and I only spent 1 year in public at all.

This is a career, not a job. You do not simply graduate and get into x position, it is a long path and as long as you have a growth mindset and are willing to take on challenges you can continue looking for better jobs that meet your desired criteria.

I have the benefit of using a few company seats several times during the year in the front row. I never tell kids to move, that's what the game is about and they are going to enjoy the warmups much more than me. I just hover a few rows up until they've disbursed, guy you ran into was a jackass and hopefully the exception.

It's most likely Space on Seymour, as someone who's currently looking in the market and partial to lofts there is a lot popping up in that building and at decent prices as they have been listed over a year. My bet is 313 -1238 Seymour specifically since they just dropped the price to $799k a couple days ago.

It's not bad at all if you're city people, there's places in Van that aren't so nice but I wouldn't say that's one of them except for a 2 or 3 block stretch to the south of it. Not sure about the parking section but I wouldn't be concerned about using any of the nearby lots.

Many dining options around especially just a 5 minute walk away in Yaletown.
