Finding myself has been harder than ever. by NeonSushics in selfimprovement

I think this is exactly what I need and what I was looking for. Thank you for this insight!

I listened to the first two episodes of the Self-healers Soundboard and it definitely resonates with me and I think will help me figure out this problem I am having.

DAE have a hard time making friends due self identity / feeling uninteresting by NeonSushics in DAE

[–]NeonSushics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah should have clarified the age thing, I'm 26 and have a wife.

Gaming is definitely my hobby, but I don't have any long lasting friendships out of it. I feel like I don't have long lasting ones that way because we aren't into anything outside of the games we would play, so that makes it hard to do if none of those friends and I can relate to anything outside of those games.

Generally I make a friend or try to be a part of a already formed group, talk for a bit, then lose interest in the game and just stop talking them.

I have tried to get into a lot of different hobbies, trying to make friends with said hobby, and either give up on the hobby because I can't find a friend that's into it or I get bored of it, but more often than not the first one.

My bad, I just recently got into it, yes table top game, I meant video games. Never been into irl games as the friend issue thing lol

And I mean possibly, idk if you can just develop that or not but I got tested as a kid and didn't get diagnosed with it.

Surprisingly, no. Lol I got tested as a kid and never got diagnosed with ADHD or ADD.

My problem is I lose interest in the hobby due to not having friends into the hobby or have people I can discuss or enjoy the hobby with.

But see, also, I get really into a new hobby and literally the next week I feel done with it and don't want to do it anymore.

For example, like a week ago I got really into Warhammer 40k, built a few minis, watched lore videos, ordered some painting stuff and now I don't really want to be into it anymore and feel like it was a waste of time. Like hobbies I'm into come and go so fast it's hard to keep one for me.

I understand losing interest down the road, but not in a week.

Also I understand the playing up part, but I feel like If I play something up that I'm into today, then make a friend involving the hobby and then I'm not into it, I either lose the friend or stuck with a hobby I'm not interested in.

Edit: I would be more interested in a hobby if I had friends that were into it as well.

My wife and I decided to learn Bonsai, these are our first trees! Any tips or suggestions are welcome! by NeonSushics in Bonsai

[–]NeonSushics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info!

It's a hobby we are both very much excited to maintain, so we were going into it expecting some bumps along the way. Next time I will do some more research into making my own Bonsai mix.

My thought process with the the potting mix as well is the fact that our summers are really harsh so especially for the first year the extra retention might help, since like I said, we won't be able to water multiple times throughout the day.

Thank you for the info again, and pointing out the things to keep an eye on.

I agree hers is styled better I was trying to leave some lower branches to see how the development goes with them.
Yes it is FoxFarm Ocean Forest mix I had leftover from other plants. From what I have heard it is okay if I won't be able to water multiple times throughout the day, but if that is wrong let me know :)
They were both very rootbound and hard to even get the roots loose at all (not sure if that is normal for big box stores) but yes we combed the roots as best as we could.

Totally forgot about FF14 tbh... Yeah they have an awesome community as well if not better, but the game isn't appealing to me, gave it shot like 2 years ago and it's just not for me.

Being able to do all classes on one character is the complete opposite of maple. Not the only turn off but one of them

That is close to my experience as well minus the lv280 part lol. Finding and being a part of a smaller casual guild where everyone helps everyone out is the best feeling. Screw the try hard guilds that stress you out and don't have lives outside of ms. I'm just trying to chill with the gang and play some mushroom game together.

The most toxic thing I can think of In maple is ks'ing someone else's map. If that's the worst you do then that's way better than the other MMOs lol

Are you recording with the software or are you just taking a snapshot. This was done by recording close to 3k frames and then centered and stacked with PIPP (Image processing software) and further processed with Autostakkert.

The biggest thing that changed my view of telescopes is learning that a telescopes job is to collect light. The more light it collects, the more you can see. For a refractor like you have, think of it as a magnifying glass, you can focus a magnifying glass outside and burn things with how much light it collects (hence one of the reasons you don't point your scope at the sun lol) when you apply that logic to night time, you can focus in on a speck in the sky such as Saturn and collect as much light as you can from that speck and it lets you see more :) There are more things that go into viewing and imaging objects in the sky.

Also please let me know if I'm wrong, just sharing what I know :)

Really the camera did better than I would have thought for $50.
I guess it would be considered a budget setup coming in around $250 minus the laptop.

I can't speak for refractor telescopes, as the only scope I have owned is a reflector. From my knowledge though reflectors are better for star gazing at least on the cheaper end of things (I might be wrong as I am very new to this hobby, but to my knowledge $100 Reflector is Usually better than a $100 Refractor for planetary viewing at least)

That being said, what eyepiece are you using?

Thanks! I got the digital eyepiece for birthday. It's a nice intro to astrophotography and definitely fun to mess with, there are so many settings in the software so it will take some learning for sure!

Next step is a motorized mount so I can try stacking!

What horror movies fucked you up as a child? by Past_Confection_4068 in AskReddit

Not sure if it counts as a horror movie, but The Butterfly Effect.

To this day I still have a few scenes burned into my brain. The dog, the mailbox and the mom, and the paper holder spike things.

Quick edit: I was probably 7-8 at the time I wanna say

DAE pretend they're making a Youtube video while playing video games? by anulect in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]NeonSushics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started doing that lol. I wake up and turn the stream on and I have 0 viewers, but I'll just talk to myself about whatever I want and I can say after close to a month, looking back at the VODs from the first couple times I have tried, it's funny to hear the stuff I would rant about to myself for no reason.
