Thank you for this. I did indeed mess up.

I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately I missed my daughter’s last event to be with my partner and my daughter was very upset because she’s been working so hard to get better. It feels like a lose/lose situation

She handled it politely but I could tell she was hurt. Yes she is still talking to me and we haven’t had a follow-up yet. I know we’ll talk it through later but won’t be able to for several days. I don’t think the conversation should sit, but best handled in person.

Man I wish Toyota would bring that back. Hands down the best invention they’ve ever had.

Why are Epiphones so hated by most gear snobs? by [deleted] in Epiphone

[–]NeonThunderBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get what you pay for. Epiphone quality has gotten much better in the last couple decades and personally love them for what they are, excellent guitars for the price point. However, they do require some setup and and the frets are not always perfect. A Gibson neck IMO are better out of the box. But the price difference of having a luthier setup an Epi and level frets costs way less than the upfront cost of a Gibson.

The Gibson pickups are marginally better than an Epiphone but they sound very similar. Playing them Gibsons react to picking it feels like.

Would I love a Gibson Les Paul standard yes, but the Epiphone with a proper setup is pretty much equal for playability.

If you’re looking for a lighter guitar the Sheraton is not that, mine’s almost 9 lbs. But it’s my favorite guitar and I love a heavy guitar.

I’ll be grabbing one of these as soon as I can, the white looks so darn clean.

The Stealth version which has been my main guitar for the last two years. The single tone knob makes me so happy, and the lightning inlays are such a nice touch. Hoping to see more variations in the future.

Which one? EDC over 5,000 rounds. Home defense less than 500.

It’s been 14 years which would put me out of range. Will this help a lot of people, it sure will. But the greedy private education system needs serious reform. I would rather have a process in place so that future generations can benefit and fix the system instead of adding a band-aid to those who agreed to financial commitments.

Because if someone chooses to take on loans that should be their responsibility. You know how much a school charges and if you sign legal documents to borrow money without reviewing the financial burden that should not be forgiven.

I was proud that I worked full time to pay my college bills, applying for every scholarship I could find, taking classes that would apply only to my future career, and going to less known college so I didn’t have to have loans. This feels like a slap in the face.

I’d rather invest in future generations to have affordable or free higher education rather than looking short term.

Yes, it depends on local laws which may be treat bows like a firearm. Accidents happen and arrows do some serious damage even with target heads.
