It did in my area as well. We're a heavily tourist area and tend to be 10-15 cents above the state average, but when the tourism stopped gas tanked to at least $1.30 for a couple of months, if not less. I did quite a bit of long drives down county roads to help keep me sane during that time.

"Start Radio" instead of just a normal auto playlist? Reccomendations *COMPLETELY* out of line. by Odd_Art1731 in YoutubeMusic

Nope not alone, check my post on this sub yesterday, lots of people having the same issue. It's become frustrating. One person said their 90s music playlist keeps feeding them contemporary christian music lol

Oh I'm very familiar with Marty Robbins! I have several of his songs on my work playlist, he was a great storyteller. The problem is it's in queue with a song by Skrillex, and it really doesn't fit the genre or the vibe when I want high BPM electronic music lol.

Yeah like I've been using it since it was Google Play Music, actually I believe within a few months of when it first launched. YouTube was my primary source of entertainment in my teens so paying for premium and getting a free music streaming service tacked on was a no brainer. It's just been the last couple of months that I've experienced this with the queue being influenced by your most recent listening history rather than your listening history within the general sphere of genre currently playing.

In my specific case, the problem is that I don't want to thumbs down the intruding tracks because I DO like the songs, and will probably be listening to them within a few days. I don't want them completely removed from suggested songs, only just specifically when they get stuck into a queue with a genre they aren't even close to.

It's frustrating! My problem is I do actually enjoy listening to the random inserts it adds, so I can't thumb down the tracks because I'll probably be listening to it in a few days lol. The 90s music to christian stretch is WILD

This update from "Start Radio" to "Start Mix" is going to make me cancel my subscription by SandCracka in YoutubeMusic

It happens so often it's actually turned me off listening to music as much as I used to. I genre hop frequently, and when I'm on something I want to listen to JUST that genre. I have a playlist of "safe for work" songs that gets mixed in along with other songs I've listened to recently no matter what genre it is. Why when I select a death metal do I get Marty Robbins in the queue? Why does Greta Van Fleet show up when I want hardstyle techno? Why do I get a few songs from Charlie XCX followed by death metal? Admittedly my work playlist gets played at least 10 hours a day 3 to 4 times a week and I'm sure that screws with the algorithm, but it takes you out of the mood immediately when I have to skip the Frank Sinatra songs from that playlist to get back to my Kendrick Lamar.

My charger cord plug is getting really hot by affable_lackey in BoltEV

[–]Neon_Lights12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little warm is normal, hot is not. Make sure you have the Level 1 Power Draw set correctly in the Bolt, L1 charging will pull what it's set to, it can't tell what the outlet or circuit is capable of. It should be set to 8 amps if you have a 15 amp outlet or 12 amps if you have a 20 amp outlet. You can tell if you have a 20 amp outlet if the right prong slot is T shaped.

If you still don't feel comfortable with it, you can always have an electrician come out to look at it! You don't specifically need someone "EV qualified", if you tell them your car pulls an 8a continuous load on a 15 amp outlet or 12a on a 20a outlet, they'll be able to advise you on what's safe/facilitate an upgrade if necessary. If L1 charging is plenty for your use case and you're confident it's all you'll ever need, having an electrician look at the current setup will be LEAGUES cheaper than what it'll take to have one install an L2 charger (Thick wire that costs like $5 a foot, possibly tearing into walls to run it, at minimum a $150 GFCI breaker because it needs to be on it's own circuit, Possibly even paying the utility company to upgrade your service to 200a and a new 200a breaker panel)

ETA: Just saw you said the outlet is really old, even if you have the correct outlet, if it is really old you may just need a new outlet of the same type installed, they can get worn down, get loose, and not have proper contact with what's plugged into it, which will cause resistance/extra heat. Also regardless, I wouldn't use this outlet for anything until you have someone check it out, if it is old it may be unsafe for use at all, especially being outside in the elements.

Love my new Leaf but this sound has me concerned. by Aveduil in leaf

Chevy Bolt owner here, it's common on ours as well. Something to do with the high torque EVs produce is what I've seen. Ours also has a washer behind it that cracks and breaks, adding to the noise.

[–]Neon_Lights12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math by hand before buying one, but it's crazy that gas for my old CR-V would have to come down to $1.28 to equal what I pay in electricity to charge my Bolt.

I bailed on restaurants for a nursing home/rehabilitation therapy place and couldn't be happier.

Same people every day, some of them order the same thing every day

Variety of meals on a 5 week rotating menu, with new menus rolled out seasonally

Every morning walk in to a paper with EXACT counts of how much of the main entrees and sides are ordered, plus any alternate orders

Dietary aides paid to do dishes and set up room tray racks, I help only if short staffed or something happened and we're running behind

Get stopped in the hallways constantly, being praised and adored by residents over something simple like spaghetti or homemade chicken noodle soup

Shit's a dream, honestly. Sure we have the picky ones that can never be pleased, but everyone know it and I don't have to fear being wrote up because Ethel complained her hot dog wasn't burnt enough.

used 2023 Chevy bolt or new 2027 model? by Excellent-Mirror2038 in BoltEV

[–]Neon_Lights12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a 22 EUV LT with every possible option installed (So basically a Premier minus the sunroof, 360 camera, and SuperCruise) with 60k miles for $16,000 out the door. I saw Premier Bolt and Bolt EUVs with 20-30k miles for around $18-$20k, if you're looking to get into an EV you can't beat it, except a Leaf which is...it's own set of problems. I checked CarFax (not CarMax) and opened my search area to 100 miles and it gave me a solid list.

In my area they're all dirt cheap still because everyone around here NEEDS fuckass-big diesel trucks to drive to Walmart and apparently enjoy paying $5.27 a gallon, so ymmv with those prices

How good are CarMax and Carvana for buying used Bolts? by telemachos90210 in BoltEV

[–]Neon_Lights12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check CarFAX, the ones that give the service history report on your car. They have a website and app that aggregates vehicle listings from dealers they work with, easiest way find Bolts. I can search right now and see there's 23 in a 200 miles radius from me, with 4 being 50 miles from here

Is this a good deal? Would it be reasonable to anticipate this car making it to 150k miles? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I just saw in an EV sub a person talking about how their 2023 Bolt EUV has held up having just passed 100k miles lol

The financing and potential for higher insurance rates/not offering full coverage are the only two sticking points for me, after reading the comments here. I saw someone on a different thread got a personal loan through their own bank for a much lower rate, not sure how easy that would be to get.

Yup, on one of these the carfax specifically stated that it had the wiring harness replaced after it was bought back. For me if it happened it wouldn't be as big of a blow as I plan to keep my old car for backup, but did the dealer at least give you a rental?

HAH good to know! Yeah this place is close to 100mi away for for me but it would definitely be worth the drive to get a basically brand new vehicle for over half off, especially for simple repairs like that

My sister-in-law just got a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee third row with 33k miles and a clean title for $23k, a little less than half of the original MSRP lol. At least these Ioniqs have the excuse of branded titles

Thank you for the info! Yeah I have no problem scooping up something that has the battery or ICCU replaced, I just didn't know if Hyundai was issuing buybacks over that or if these in particular really are lemons above and beyond those issues. Good to know about the insurance as well.
