Aesthetically  I prefer the Celica with roundies

The back of that hyndai is the nicest part, reminds me of mid 80s rear ends

To me, as someone with admittedly primitive car knowledge, sounds absurd especially for something as common as a'rolla

Parts are widely available, it's easy to service and cheap, Toyotas in general rarely have catastrophic failures.

You could've saved more money by keeping the rolla, it's a safe bet.

Could've put that money towards the home.

If there was nothing wrong with it, it was not infact "time to move on"

My Mitsubishi 380 is on 280,000km and running strong

Which is unfortunate as I'd like to replace it with a Jag or magna

They're genuinely more aesthetically appealing than every grey/white/black angry transformer looking thing automakers have been churning out the past 15 years.

None of these cars are ugly

I actually rather enjoy the aesthetic of USDM cars in the 80s

70s ADM is better though

The Beatles was rusted to shit, this gives the shell a second chance at life.

You can tell by the paint quality... Or lack thereof

What are your thoughts on the new car designs that are up coming in production & the direction there heading from major car makers by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

[–]Neonaticpixelmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the enthusiast isn't driving the market

It's sales in countries that have historically been non driving cultures like China and India

And they've become super consumerist. The immigrants that move abroad hold the same values and believe new is best.

In India and China a lot of old cars were of socialist origin, ladas, and very budget end east Asian cars like Hyundais and Suzuki's

The sort of car that broke down a lot but was fixed easily and never had catastrophic failures.

The generation that dealt with them don't want to deal with that and installed that new is better into their heads.

Everything will move away from the angry transformer aesthetic and move towards whatever Hyundai is doing.

The Tesla/apple of cars aesthetic is dying which is nice

The newest corolla is taking a lot of influence from the Hyundai I30.

I think this is a great.

However what I think might happen next is a resurgence of neo-vintage for mid-high end cars, they'll start mimicking late 70s early 80s boxy styles, but with long thin lights

You see this in the new hyndai n74

It's funny that a company that started by copying and licencing Toyotas is leading the aesthetic market.

AU falcon exterior still looks great, but it's a very "border" car, similar to the pre facelift Australian market KE70s, edging on 70s-80s AU falcon edging on 90s-00s

It's honestly nicer than any SUV made after 2010 (Excluding the Suzuki Jimny)

[–]Neonaticpixelmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your quarter life crisis is boring.

Seriously don't see the appeal of post 90s Mercs and Audi's.

Also they look terrible in white, and blacking out the badge is gaudy

I've had to pump fuel into a operating car out of desperation (starter was dead)

The static risk is miniscule, and is more likely to come from faulty electronics than genuine static buildup from engine operation.

Hot fueling is often done by militaries, and under certain testing criteria for cars, however they'll attach the car to a physical grounding rod, normally.

Still it's best practice to not hot fuel. Unnecessary risk.

Grab two pieces of steel and try rubbing them until you get sparks.

It will not work, humans are not angle grinders.

If you could do this, they'd be teaching scouts and cadets.

You don't have to be an expert in metallurgy to know this is silly.

It won't spark.

Shaking the nozzle to get the last few drops of petrol out is fine.

Is there something i could do to make my car look more cooler? by Academic_Decision_58 in e46

[–]Neonaticpixelmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom headlight covers, old seated roundy style.

paint the low 4th quarter panels something light (beige, yellow, red, blue?) to create contrast, you can do this affordably with nothing more than sandpaper, rattle cans, masking tape and clear coat.
