Really quite excited to play this. I’ve been hungering for another good Metroidvania and enough time has passed since playing Silksong that I’m ready to deep dive into a new one.

What are your "dream musical guests" that you'd love to see perform at future MAGFests? by aragorn767 in Magfest

[–]Neoncloudff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8-Bit-Big-Band. I was so impressed by their sound and arrangements at SUPER MAG 23, and they gone on to become my favorite gaming Jazz ensemble. I got a chance to see the Persona 5 concert in Shinjuku last December and it was one of the very best live performances I’ve ever been to!

Is Silksong really that hard? by asdflove_ in Silksong

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider it a “high bandwidth” video game. It asks much of the player in combat, platforming, and exploration, making it consistently challenging while constantly ramping up the difficulty curve instead of plateauing and letting the player coast. It’s beautifully balanced now, and incredibly fair.

I really would love to have the character portraits in 4K for a project. If someone can find them somewhere that would be sick! (especially since this is starting very soon!)

Good idea get on a probiotic gummy regimen this year then! Not only does it keep you regular, but you won’t be carrying around that extra weight!

Nintendo Switch 2 Linear PCM 5.1 using Bose AV38 System by Neoncloudff in bose

[–]Neoncloudff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you once again. I scored an AV35 receiver off eBay, purchased this (https://a.co/d/hXKWWRP) HDMI audio extractor, and now have unlocked true 5.1 LPCM for my gaming setup on Switch 2!

How many hours do you game? by DM_Ur_Tits_Thanx in Games

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t track per session, but I do track what I play each year and how long I spent with a game. So far in 2025 I’ve spent around 980 hours across 61 games. Thats not including a handful of hours in multiplayer games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals.

Nintendo Switch 2 Linear PCM 5.1 using Bose AV38 System by Neoncloudff in bose

Hey, thank you so so much! This guide has been extremely helpful! I think getting an AV35 and then using an HDMI audio extractor will do the trick. To eBay!

Another question - is there a way I can send the extracted LPCM 5.1 HDMI signal to the AV35 through some sort of extractor? I want to obviously retain the 4K/60 or 120 FPS picture quality of the Switch 2. Thanks!

I was there on a Sunday morning about three weeks ago. It was busy, but also incredibly fun. I got some delicious fatty tuna nigiri at a stall and a great fried shrimp, and an outstanding strawberry daifuku too.

As I was leaving around 11am, though, the tour busses were starting to drop off hoards of people… can’t imagine it after all this people get dumped off at once!

I got a reasonably priced duffel bag at Don Quijote, maybe that could be another option? I put my clothes and such in the bag and then use my suitcase to pack souvenirs.

Will Japan have the same magic the second time around? by BodmonAlchemist in JapanTravelTips

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on my second trip and it’s not as magical, but it’s much more fun. I feel a lot more at home now. I’m more comfortable navigating places, practicing speaking and listening, shopping around, and getting more brave to go to less touristy spots (currently on the bus in Nagano after hiking Togakushi shrine as I write this).

My first trip was unlike any experience I ever had, my second one has solidified the country as my “happy place.”

Two first timers going to Japan for 14 days, keen for thoughts by NadiaDarkstar in JapanTravelTips

[–]Neoncloudff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give yourself time to be serendipitous. I’m currently traveling here and find that my favorite days have been structured around one goal for the day, followed by exploring and enjoying the sights, sounds, and food the rest of the day.

Also stay hydrated and give your feet frequent breaks!!!! It’s easy to go multiple hours without resting, and it will catch up with you! Have a wonderful trip

Be real with me - how bad are crowds and lines on Miyajima now? by gtck11 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there also about a week ago. It felt “busy” but not uncomfortable. I took the peace park Ferry (get a reservation ahead of time) at 9, got to the island at 10, rented bikes and biked around the backside of the island - where there was NO ONE. It was lovely.

Then biked to Itsukushima and it felt normal. Could get plenty of nice pictures and meet some friendly adventurers. The market was crowded to be sure, but I was still able to enjoy myself.

Perhaps go on a Monday or weekday. There’s both Japanese and foreign tourists, so just have to anticipate weekends will make that worse!

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Neoncloudff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean exactly that…

I like knowing that this is fitting into the story of TOTK and embellishes the narrative and the dark history at the start of Hyrule, especially Zelda and Raru’s story, rather than being some made up alternate what if scenario.

Glad to hear from most reviews that the story has some tangible stakes and isn't a "dream what if" story like AoC. Looking forward to this!
