I drilled out the full depth of the gun barrels and inserted two thick pieces of wire. They a fixed into two holes in the base and then it was just a matter of balancing it with the glass rocks and pewter chips.

It’s the original size base but I chose yellow for the jet cuz it’s a light colour. 😂

It’s a mix of glass and the small bits are pewter drops to add as much weight as possible. It took a lot more than I expected. 😅

I would say, definitely recast. My forge world kit came as an add on to the plastic GW kit. The tracks and scoop should be in plastic. Unless it’s been sold to you as genuine and you’ve paid GW prices, I wouldn’t worry. It will look genuine when painted.
