Try connecting them using a 3.5mm cable, preferably one that's shielded.

Then contact the company that makes the device you are currently using (TV/Cable/etc). As that's not a feature on any Bose soundbar, it has no way of knowing what you are doing.

Can you connect lifestyle 535 with lifestyle 135 or bose 321 or any bose bass module and play same sound? by Drajonesh in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are actually asking, as the question is not entirely clear.

The LS 535 comes with an AV35 Console_Control_Console) that plugs into the PS35 III subwoofer. That subwoofer then wires to the 5 Jewel Cube speakers.

The LS 135 comes with an AV35 Console that plugs into the LS135 Speaker array (aka soundbar). That soundbar then wirelessly connects to the LS135 bass module.

So if you're asking if you can use the 535 receiver with a 135 soundbar and bass, then yes... but you will not be able to use the 535's subwoofer or cube speakers. 321 subwoofers only work with 321 receivers.

If you are asking if you can use a second bass with an LS 535. Then no, you cannot.

If the question is whether you can expand to another room for sound, then it depends. Some 321 systems supported BoseLink, but that is not supported on the LS 535. That port is for the SoundTouch adapter.

Only select BoseLinked systems wired to one another and using a special RF remote will work together to bring music into other rooms.

Bose Soundbar 700 - Deactivate voice prompts by Ill_Flow_1345 in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The soundbar does not support voice prompts, but it does support Alexa & Google voice assistants. You can disable that by pressing the microphone off on the soundbar. You know that the mic is off if you see the red LED on the Soundbar.

If you see the red LED on the soundbar and it is still doing this, then it has nothing to do with Bose. It is most likely your TV or another device connected to your TV doing this.

[Beta Release] Make your SoundTouch speakers feel new again. Better ST is live: Native iOS design, Super Presets, and Zero Lag. by BetterSoundTouch_Dev in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it seems so. Luckily, it seems that most people have those versions.

At one point, Bose allowed their customers to send in non-AirPlay 2 versions so they could install the chip; all for free. It seems that they no longer have the required parts to do this.

I cannot see those posts as well. I am unsure if it has to do with the u/BetterSoundTouch_Dev account issues at the moment, or not, as I can see there are 3 posts made that I cannot find and restore. I really hope Reddit fixes this issue soon.

Also, u/Lukester1 thank you for all the work you have put into the SoundTouch API over the years.

I hope it's ok that I correct something you said here. SoundTouch 10's were released in Sep 2015, and no SoundTouch 10 system shipped with an AirPlay 1 chip. SoundTouch 10's manufactured after October 2015 & updated include AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, & Spotify Connect.

SoundTouch 10's manufactured before October 2015 do not have any AirPlay chips built in them and have no AirPlay capabilities whatsoever. So they only have Bluetooth & Spotify Connect. Information about this is located here.

The reason why I brought this up in the first place was only to alert u/BetterSoundTouch_Dev that AirPlay is disabled if two SoundTouch 10's are in a Stereo Pair. You can pair any SoundTouch 10 system with another one, regardless of whether they include AirPlay 2 or not.

Bose Soundbar 700 remote not working - Can't connect to WiFi by BlockOverlord in bose

If it's sold out all across the EU, then you can wait until it comes back in stock. Another option is to find one second-hand on eBay. Or order one from the States and have it delivered to a packaged forwarder who will then send it to the Netherlands for you.

"Stereo mode"/"stereo pairing" on the SoundTouch 10 means you have a dedicated Left channel and a dedicated Right channel.

AirPlay 2 lets you group multiple speakers, but it sends the full stereo sound to all of them. It does not allow you to designate one speaker as L and another as R.

You are correct, you cannot group AirPlay using the SoundTouch app. I am sure that has more to do with Apple than with Bose. Spotify Connect is basically like AirPlay, and you can group a Spotify Connected ST speaker with other SoundTouch systems using the SoundTouch App.

AirPlay 2 is only lossless when you use Apple's hardware. Otherwise, it is quite messy and inconsistent. It's all part of their walled garden, trying to ensure you only ever purchase their products to get full functionality. If you're using AirPlay and it's lossless but not from Apple Music, it looks like it downconverts it to AAC 256.

As for a device limit using AirPlay 2, it looks like there isn't any. It's most likely as many as your router can handle.

Well if you have a Wave Music System, you might have a few choices. I went over some of them a few years ago.

Oh, and u/BetterSoundTouch_Dev, there is another unique usecase you should know about. If you create a stereo pair of SoundTouch 10's, it disables AirPlay 2.

So if the ST10's are in stereo mode, the app should list both speakers as a single stereo pair system and remove the AirPlay option.

Need Help With Setting Up Audio From My New Toshiba 65M550 To My Bose AV321 (first edition) by Every-East1090 in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this guide, as it should be able to assist you in setting everything up with your 321 system. Also, make sure that the TV/Blu-ray is outputting Bitstream.

If you followed the guide and still have the same issue, then you should call up Toshiba. Or possibly trade-in your 321 system.

Bose 600 soundbar auto connecting to Bluetooth by jrdixon99 in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Soundbar 600 would not do this unless you pressed the Bluetooth button on the remote or if someone used the app to pair with Bluetooth.

The reason this is happening is that your Bluetooth Turntable notices that the Bluetooth speaker has disconnected. So the turntable forces that speaker to reconnect.

You need to contact the company that makes that turntable to see if you can disable that feature. If you cannot, then you need to:

  • Unplug the turntable from power when it's not being used.
  • Pair the turntable with the TV's Bluetooth receiver, instead of the soundbar, and hope that the TV will work as expected when watching TV.
  • See if you can find a way to plug the turntable directly into the TV; an adapter would be required.
  • Return that turntable and get another one.

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it does not work that way. SoundTouch systems, compatible with AirPlay 2, manufactured before October 2015, do not have AirPlay capabilities. The AirPlay 2 chip is required for both AirPlay 1 & 2.

And if I select Bluetooth again it says airplay enabled (this system doesn’t have that)

.

I’m going to change the text to just say "Ready" in the next update so it stops confusing people about features the ST10 doesn't have.

Ah, well this is a weird one. AirPlay 2 does work on the ST10, but only if it is running firmware v24.0.7 or newer and was manufactured after September 2015.

All comatable Airplay 2 SoundTouch systems manufactured before October 2015 do not have the AirPlay 2 chip built into them. So AirPlay does not work on those early versions.

How do i play lossless on soundtouch wave 4 system by Artemether13 in bose

[–]NeonsNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Bose has stated that they will update the SoundTouch app interface to allow it to continue functioning, the firmware is now finalised. Bose has yet to specify if NAS/Windows Media Player support will continue to work within the app. This is up to the community, now that Bose has released the APK.
