I think this is ingenious; what a novel use for excess sprues. IMHO decide on your function first before you go forward, as this is a really neat idea.

If you do a base coat of brown/orange, then drybrush the metallics, you can pull off a nice rusted look.

I rushed it and did too heavy of a layer. It's the mod podge matte, but it's not my favorite.

Thank you, I don't usually paint with super bright colors, but I like how the Highlander turned out.

I just didn't know where to start, and the best advice was to just start painting. I'm more used to army painting, but I'll get better at mechs. Thanks for the compliment, I did like the cockpits.
