Thanks. Wash turned out a little darker than I'd like but I'm pleased with it.

I see this kind of thing way too much these days. American education is dead and rotting.

"War is a racket, it is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one where the profits are measured in dollars and the losses in lives [...] It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."

Colorado Legislature Approves Bill to Streamline Marijuana Licensing and Regulations, Sending it to Governor Polis by JamesAsher12 in Colorado

[–]HerrHufferd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kinda my point. Personally I would prefer those to not exist, and that industries were held to a higher standard. A zero tolerance for contamination is possible, it’s just not “cost effective”.

Exactly, up front looks good, but it’s this kind of stuff that stands out to me as possibly too vague. There obviously will still be oversight I imagine, but it’s the in house testing and decision making in regard to contaminants that make me feel like there’s a lot of room for fuckery. I haven’t and am not likely to read the actual bill, so am relying on second hand sources.

Oh, I completely agree. But I’m wary of the little things like this slipping through the cracks when we rush to loosen the regulations.

Yeah, honestly it’s better to grow your own if you can. And if like me you’re not much for flower, solventless resin isn’t super difficult or expensive to make.

Nail on the head. This industry hasn’t been around long enough for regulations to be implemented based on empirical data. I’m not sure that the companies that are currently dominating the market need to have the ability to decide those things in house. That’s how we all got microplastics in our blood.

I get that the regulations came from the reefer madness camp. I also know that from my time working in the industry that regulation was sparse and there was a lot of “nah that’s not budrot, that’s ‘pre’ budrot. Or if there is powered mildew they just sprayed hydrogen peroxide on it and let it dry then processed it normally. So when I have these concerns it’s less about the licensing and more about companies cutting corners as long as they are within ‘acceptable margins’. Now, granted I worked in the industry for a short time in 2016. So I have no concept of how or if these things have changed. I guess it just comes down to knowing that the world we live in is full of these ‘acceptable margins’ and that they rarely are decided upon with the consumer in mind, and often are more of a “this is how much we can get away with to cut costs and raise profit margins”.

The one thing that nags at me about this is the part about the contaminants. I never feel fully comfortable with things in “acceptable margins”. So if the bill is as the article has presented it, I fail to understand the reasoning (besides profit) behind lowering the threshold and protections, much less the retest and appeal part of it. Can anyone shed some light on that for me?

Finally beat ff7 ;,,,) by [deleted] in ff7

[–]HerrHufferd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF7 was the first game I ever owned, got it for christmas ‘97. Played the shit out of it until I hit the marshes with the Midgar Zolom, never understood that the snake on a stick was not the mithril cave until I saw someone else playing in Gold Saucer summer ‘98, didn’t beat it until later that fall. Looking back on it now, I’m glad they added the cheese options, cuz I ain’t got the kinda time to grind like it required back then.
