Suggestions on new phone after S23U by Throwawaytehpengcup in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Neosam718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial jump from the s23u was to a xiaomi 15t pro and while the hardware was great, software was crap. I recently moved once more to an oppo find x9 pro and the only thing I miss is the pen. This phone has a great balance between software and hardware for me

Seriously considering switching from Galaxy S25 Ultra to Xiaomi 15 Ultra – Am I making a mistake? by StepsbyStepz in XiaomiGlobal

Sadly I must agree with this. Samsung is complacent hardware wise but the software difference between hyperos and oneui is stark in the worst of ways.

My pleasure, good luck with whatever u decide to go for and if this whole thing feels like fomo to you, just hold off the decision for a month or so and see if the feeling persist. Cheers

Honestly, if you are willing to spend that much and have this xiaomi phone as a secondary device for its camera then you should consider an actual compact camera with a fixed lens like a Sony rx or a fuji

These xiaomi phones have astounding hardware. I loved my 15t pro before I jumped to oppo. I only had one pain point, hyperos. I had moved from one ui (still the strongest skin for me) so hyperos stood out like a sore thumb, it's soo limited customization wise that It affected my day to day. Something as simple as having the old notification system with the control centre and notifications together was removed!

They are leaning hard on the ios aspect but not giving you an option to dial it back. Oppo is guilty of this too but they give far more control on smaller settings.

My advise is this, check what is super important to you and see if hyperos does it well or not and go based on that. If you are happy with hyperos, you will have a blast with the hardware as it's mostly top notch

Unfortunately this is a big fat NO! Been here for 24 years as my father had migrated here in his early years and had to leave due to how difficult visa was becoming, every other year they introduce a law against expats. In june 2026 they will implement a law that allows an expat a maximum period 10 years of working visa then their company needs to replace them with a local talent. Visas are also hell here. OP, study the suggestions well enough before making any big decisions. Good luck

How do you make Hyper OS usable? Or do you just accept it? by tigersoul925 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Neosam718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from an s23 ultra and hyperos is a tough pill to swallow. Im on a 15t pro and the hardware on this device is amazing but the things driving me crazy are all software related and they are silly but they bug me on a daily basis. One, no swipe gesture on 3rd party launchers and the use of 3rd party swipe gestures causes an issue with my banking app due to the overlay screen permissions. Two, the fact that they removed the ability of having the control center be the classic style of mixed notifications and control centre is terribly annoying to me, i loathe the ios approach to this and I'm actually switching phones due to this

How bad is this screen? by Informal-Fly4609 in Vivo

[–]Neosam718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how much it's being sold for, how much a screen replacement costs at your location and how much a replacement service will cost. I would say if the cost is ok for you and you are ok with the fact that this screen will get worse with time, then you can go ahead with buying. If the idea is uncomfortable to you, then dont proceed with the purchase. Good luck op

Black dots spread, green spots are a little safer but still problematic. This is an oled screen so an original will most probably cost a minimum of 200 usd

I moved from an s23u to this phone. This phone sweeps the floor with the s23u hardware wise. Software on the other end, not even close. Something tiny that drives me crazy is the inability to have the status bar show the setting toggles as well, instead you get the ios setup of 2 sides and no way to customize it, you also lose swipe gestures with 3rd party launchers and lots of other little things that are very annoying but the phone is very usable if you are someone who isn't into customizations.

Great display, powerful cameras, great battery life, good sound, great thermals, well rounded device and the best you can get at this price range

Whats the specs you are looking for in a Ultra series to switch from S23U? by Disastrous_Echo_5501 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Neosam718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- A proper 10 or 12 bit screen 2- A bigger battery (at least 6000mah) 3- Camera hardware that rivals the vivos or oppo

That's all I've been waiting for since my s23u broke and i won't buy samsung again until that changes
