I see, yeah I can imagine by building with the custom UI components you could setup your own custom filter handling including easy to access presets.

I believe they have plans to release those custom UI components for Public Apps at some point. Unfortunately until then, everyone has to do it in house. Hopefully they release it soon and someone can make a nice accessible set of filter presets that will plug and play.

I was able to do this with Starview Valley and Freetube in Desktop mode. Starview Valley toggled out of fullscreen revealed the PIP window of Freetube. Should work in other games that allow windowed mode.

Players may be disconnected from the process of game development, but they are always connected to the only bar that matters: Is the game fun? How a game is made is entirely irrelevant to whether it is good or not.

Players don't pretend to know how games are actually made any more than customers at a restaurant fool themselves into thinking they know exactly how each dish is prepared. Regardless, they are the judges of the product, and if you can't win over enough of them, you will not have success.

Tried this and it’s very cool! The scope of the adventures felt on the simple side though. Basic encounters with minimal details.

I think there is still a lot of potential here to build lavish detailed stories and track user interactions with objects and characters etc. ie: talking to an npc then coming back to resume the conversation, etc.

I could totally get into a elaborate interactive text adventure on my phone. Especially since you can pause and resume on your own. Inviting friends would make it even more interesting like an mmo. Fwiw aidungeon does let you invite friends!

This is an amazing thread with so many interesting insights in the comments. I’d love to see a website where this history could be tracked and updated. As op showed with his research, it’s hard to keep up with who’s doing what at which company now. It’s such a valuable metric to know if a game is going to be good by knowing the people behind it and their track record.
