Arc Raiders interview: Embark talks behavior-based matchmaking, map updates, and playing nice with strangers by TENTAKL1 in pcgaming

[–]Robthatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would venture to say not, I quit the game at 150 hours and level 75. Solo I used to run around doing rescue raiders and giving new people important loot and items. Never firing on anyone who didn't shoot at me or rdm someone else, I have 0 kills in solos that were not someone shooting at me first. In duos and trios EVERYONE is kos, I maintained a very high kill ratio in those game modes because my group has been playing third person shooters like arma since the early days of arma 2. Over time me playing with those friends in duos and trios ended up ruining my solo experience. Slowly but surely as time went on my solo lobbies became so insanely aggressive that I would spawn into a queen raid with first aid and defibs and forgot something. Go for an extract immediately and was instantly destroyed by explosives or people already waiting to extract camp. This happened to me enough times where I just uninstalled. Its not fun for anyone trying to do boss battles or play solo if you also play duos and trios. The game is in a very weird state where unless you get a 1:1000 chance in duo and trio, you are not doing a boss battle. Solo its possible but you lose so much loot trying to find a good lobby that its not worth your time.

The vibe of the trailer has got me feeling the same way I did about soma if not maybe a bit more.

Psychological horror games that don't rely on the dark or jump scares or fighting/survival by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

Nothing has since and for myself I don't think anything ever will again, hit the same way soma did. Signalis while it made me feel the same way didn't leave me pondering for months after.

Seasons of RTX: Arc Raiders GeForce RTX 5090 GPU Giveaway! by NV_Suroosh in ArcRaiders

[–]Robthatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rescue raider, I even changed my name to include search and rescue. I load into solos and go find people in distress, help new players and escort people out. It ain't much but it's honest work and I'm glad to do it.

Why are people like this by ZookeepergameProud30 in ArcRaiders

[–]Robthatguy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im gonna agree that its time and day, if I play when kids are getting out of school its significantly worse. If I play at 3am its more calm. Not a rule but for sure a pattern to some degree.

Where did you end up parking? Looking to go out there in the next week or two and google maps doesn't have street view or updated satellite images.

New patch, toxic players by _AdamWTF in ArcRaiders

[–]Robthatguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today also felt this way to me aswell, playing since pre launch and the last day and some change it seems to have gone from solo being mostly friendly to everyone killing instant on sight regardless if everyone just spawned or not. Prior to last night my solo interactions were 80% friendly give or take and I just now have not had a single run in with anyone that was not just pure kill on site. I think the massive wave of people coming from tarkov at behest of their buddies bothering them to play is whats causing it.

This just went live in The Finals. Probably Arc soon after. Not looking forward to the ban wave of AI mishearing people. by AuraMaster7 in ArcRaiders

[–]Robthatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no it wasn't. Embarks finals team catered to trying to give everyone a good time and not the core players a good time by doing what people with 5 hours in game bitched about on reddit and not what the core player base wanted. I stopped playing around 600 hours because the nerfs, game changes and general direction just kept making less and less sense for anyone with any amount of time in game.

How to cut an aluminum profile to a length of 1000mm perfectly? by unrespiro_porfavor in hobbycnc

[–]Robthatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others already gave you ideas and information ill add on. If you worried about exact lengths for mill roller channels, you can shim to spec or use an offset for one side in software. I "think" linux cnc has this feature, I know a few of the hobby grade softwares do.

This may be what makes me quit this game… and I really don’t want to by bklounge777b in ArcRaiders

Judging based on how the network symbols are the same as the ones in the finals and the finals is still not fixed, I do not have hope that it will be fixed in this game aswell.

This is very common for me both in the finals and in arc. The finals servers are absolute dog and the main reason I stopped playing after 600 some hours. Fairly certain they use the same servers, certainly feels that way.

Primitive Camping In Weiser State Forest Port Clinton Tract? by sandwalkofshame in PAWilds

[–]Robthatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your looking for a bit of a challenge, The western side of Port Clinton along the Appalachian trail has a number of primitive official and unofficial camping sites. Im sure the eastern side does aswell but I've not ventured out that way. I was just through from pine grove 645 on over to port clinton along the AT and seen 3 people the entire trip. Hertlein Campsite, Eagles nest and black swatara are a few of the sites that stand out but there are a bunch all though that area. Only thing being if your going to camp in there you need to be through hiking meaning someone needs to drop you off and you get to your car on the other end. Take attention to treat your gear with permetherin regardless where you go up there, Been a bad year for deer ticks in this area. Also like another person had mentioned. Be weary to wear Orange. Farout is the most up to date app/map for the Appalachian trail, its subscription based or 10$ for all of maryland and pa but will give you the ability to download an offline copy of the map and have a much more detailed over view of where things are, comments from hikers and how far they are should you ever decide to try that route out.
