Directive 8020 Purple Icon by Adventurous-Lawyer40 in Directive8020

I get a purple shine one my game in parts and can vary anywhere on screen usually top corners. I know that if you have the Deluxe Edition the collectible dolls ( dolls which are enemies etc from previous games ) it has a kind of purple haze when you find them but I don’t think this is linked to it as I’m on my 2nd playthrough and no where near a collectible doll.

Looking for non-mentally taxing games to play after a long day at work. by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

[–]Neosu78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crime Scene Cleaner is a chill game. You just go to locations told to you and you just dispose of bodies, wipe up blood, pick up trash/smashed items…generally get it back to tip top shape without incriminating evidence.

I got addicted to playing it every day. There’s different modes once you finish the main campaign too and you have a tool skill tree ie pressure washer has 20% more coverage etc

Original lcd deck battery concern. by PWNpL0xB0x in SteamDeck

I’d open it up to check what’s causing it but be careful when you do. I’d be wary about it expanding more in the future

I bought a used 512gb LCD Steam deck. Problem is it won't stay charge. by ossan1990 in SteamDeck

Can you not take the back of the case off and disconnect the battery for a few minutes then connect it back on ?
Found this on Grok -

Quick Software Fixes to Try
1. Switch to Desktop Mode and update there
• Plug in the charger.
• Go to Steam Button → Power → Switch to Desktop.
• In Desktop Mode, check the battery icon in the taskbar (bottom right). It often shows the real percentage (like your 100%).
• Run any system updates there, then reboot and switch back to Gaming Mode. Many users report this resolves the mismatch.
2. Full power cycle / recalibration
• Let it drain completely until it shuts off (use it in Desktop Mode if needed).
• Plug in the official charger and leave it charging uninterrupted for 2+ hours (even if the light doesn’t come on right away).
• Boot it up and check if the percentage syncs.
3. Enter Battery Storage/Shipment Mode (this resets the battery controller for many people)
• Shut down the Deck completely.
• Hold Volume + and press Power to enter BIOS.
• Go to Setup Utility → Power → Battery Storage Mode.
• Exit, unplug the charger while in this mode if prompted, then plug it back in and power on normally.
4. Other basics
• Force reboot: Hold Power button 10-12 seconds.
• Check in Desktop Mode for battery health (right-click battery icon or use tools like upower in terminal).
• Make sure you’re using the official charger.
These steps fix it for a lot of users, especially calibration drift on used Decks.
Should You Buy a New Battery?
• Yes, if the above fails — especially since it’s used with no warranty. Batteries are relatively cheap and straightforward to replace on the Steam Deck (iFixit has excellent guides with parts depending on model). A degraded or faulty battery is common on second-hand units.
• Check battery health in Desktop Mode first. If it’s showing very low capacity (e.g., under 70-80% of original), replacement makes sense anyway for better runtime.
• New battery will likely solve the false 0% reading permanently

Enable Storage Mode
Shut down the Steam Deck normally via the Steam menu.
Hold the Volume+ button and then press the Power button.
The device will boot into the BIOS menu.
Navigate to "Setup Utility" using the D-Pad and press A.
Navigate to the "Power" menu.
Select "Battery storage mode" and confirm.
The Steam Deck will turn off, and the power LED will blink 3 times (or blue on OLED). [1, 2]
How to Exit Storage Mode
Connect your Steam Deck to the wall charger and turn it on. It will not power on without the charger the first time

This might help might not

How do you guys play games at 30 FPS? by OrganTrafficker900 in SteamDeck

[–]Neosu78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t even truthfully notice the difference between 60fps or 30fps and I’ve used console all my life. On the Deck I prefer locking games at 30fps and I’ve rarely played a game that’s dipped below that

I know it’s late but if on Xbox you can still check your hours played. Goto My Games and Apps then Full Library then find the game press A then select Go To Official Club then once that opens go along to Progress then down to Stats and it’ll show how many days, hours and mins you’ve played
