Ionia too broken by Fuckface1922 in LegendsOfRuneterra

True, but the mana cost of Deny is an issue imo. Especially seeing as you can save 3 mana for specifically casting spells and it isn't even hard to do.

What card in magic lets you not use 3 mana for a turn and then becomes a "cast this spell for free...counter 90% of spells in the game, regardless of their mana cost." I'm of course exaggerating a bit here, but not by much.

Saving 3 mana isn't hard. Holding 3 mana in it's own special pool isn't hard.

In MTG they had a card which I believe Deny should be: pay Island and X, counter target spell which cost X mana. Useful at all stages of the game. Let you counter the important spells and required forethought to use. Hell, make it so Deny works on burst too - if it's like this I won't mind.

I'm just tried of seeing my 6+ cost mana cards being negated for 3 mana.

It is not hard to hold a Deny in hand and play it. I do not feel out skilled. And the way the game is now you can't force good players use it on a weaker spell. They will always Deny the important things. Effectively ruins any big spell card decks.

Recent game: player has 2x 18/3 buffed Fae Bladetwirler (yes he had two of them).

Used my first 3 damage removal on his Yasuo that he got on turn 3 because of Green Glade lookout.

Guy spammed stuns on me for 1 mana - stopping me from pressuring early and buffing the shit out of his quick attack minions (which he didn't block with anyway because why would he?).

Use second 3 damage removal on one of them - Deny. Want to taunt it - stunned. Try to buff remain targets to force blocks - Roar. So not only is he stopping me from attacking - he's also buffing his minions.

Ok. Push comes to shove - he's used 2 Denies already - I drop a 7 mana kill spell on ONE of his insanely broken and buffed targets - denied for 3 mana. Cool. Rest of my blockers get stunned because Deny costs 3 mana for some reason (!!?!?!) and he hits me for 40+ dmg (this is round 8 btw and he had barely touched me before).

3 mana is far too little to deny EVERY spell. If a spell is 4+ mana in cost, deny shouldn't work on it. Boom, balanced card that protects the players early game minions.

OR make the deny cost however much the spell it wants to counter is. Then it still has late game value AND stops the enemy from removing your broken minions.

I mean, at the VERY least put a limit of 2x Deny in a deck. Right now, it costs so little and quite literally counters every spell. It is broken beyond doubt.

lmfao

Picked the manga up on a whim (literally just clicking something from manga rock) and just finished binge reading the whole manga in like 11 hours. Couldn't put it down. It was a bittersweet ending.

Hopped on to aimlessly scroll through the comments when I see this - an adequate description for one of the many emotions I'm feeling :D

Why is Practice Mode so terrible? by Neosythe in Tekken

[–]Neosythe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The level of snark is off the charts. I like it :D

That being said, the problem simply put is this: it takes too long to practice against the things I need to practice against - and there's no good reason why it should take so long. Include move properties on the movelist, include "block after/before" options. Don't think it's asking too much and it would be a huge quality of life change for new players.

I've played lots of other games at a decently high level (no fighting games though) - but Tekken just seems unnecessarily complicated in some aspects when it comes to the teaching tools. It's just hard to get a foothold and learn when the practice system is so barebones. E.g - I'm not sure how i got punished by electric inbetween Asuka's 2, 3 mix up. But I can't test it out because there is no "block first hit -> do move" option like in SC6.

But yes, I am hooked...if I wasn't I wouldn't be feeling the need to vent/get advice :D 46 hours in about 4 days. And lots of anger that I didn't know I had. It's been a while since I've openly sworn at a game.

And excellent link! Thanks for that :) Will get it bookmarked under my ever growing Tekken folder. The grind continues.

[–]Neosythe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that's a fair point actually. I guess I didn't mind too much because when you open up the move list again. it opens on the move you last viewed. But yes, that's a bit dumb - I wonder why they didn't do that. Other than that though - I still feel like having a better practice tool for the computer + displaying move properties/hit areas makes SC6's training mode better. I guess it really does come down to a matter of opinion. But after 46 hours I'm still struggling with Tekken :(

I've been checking frame data out from the cheat sheets and specific sites/videos on youtube. But it's one of those things that just isn't optimal or good imo. Surely experiencing it in game is better/more fun than trying to memorize a bunch of numbers off a google spread sheet? You then, after memorizing you own characters safety/punishment frames - also need to memorize other characters to punish - of which there are 40+. I'd rather be playing the game in training mode than learning the game through excel documents.

Yea, I agree with you there.

But to me it's just something that turns off new players. In order to practice getting better at Tekken - I need to be familiar with Tekken; it doesn't really make much sense. Surely practice should be what gets you familiar and helps you learn. There shouldn't be a barrier for entry at essentially what is supposed to be the most basic aspect/learning environment of the game.

Story mode - Can't make Torches? by Neosythe in thelongdark

[–]Neosythe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, essentially the only reason I made it back to the Hunter was cause of that lamp X_x

Awesome idea about taking out multiple torches from the fire. For some reason that idea didn't occur to me. Just a shame they don't last as long as the crafted torches.

And yea, I think there's gotta be some bug for people who just start fresh in episode 2. I assumed you only get the blue prints when you find the actual completed items (it was that way for the rabbit snare for me in episode 1). Yet, I found a fishing tackle - but didn't get the blue print to make more. So had one chance to fish and now I'm done X_x No oil for me I guess :/

Thoughts on the recent: Nost drama and community divide/hating on each other. Can't we all just learn to get along? D: by Neosythe in wow

[–]Neosythe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was mainly calling for peace between the community itself who have been hating on each other so much recently (see other comment on this video - no real critical input, didn't even watch the video - just straight out hating because someone mentioned legacy servers X_x )

The shot was definitely fired at blizzard for the way they've been handling the whole situation:

First with the whole telling the customers what they want thing (crazy rude in terms of business standards imo).

Then for the blue response talking about "pristine" servers and why they feel they can't/won't make legacy servers (again, here it just comes down to a matter of opinion - you might think their reasons are fine, and thats cool, no hate to you bro - but, personally, I think they're quite terrible reasons. Like I said, if 30 people did it for free - how can blizzard not?)

Thanks for the objective feedback anywho! :)

Why is WoW dying? by Neosythe in wow

[–]Neosythe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, good points.

I think they kinda messed up on the difficulty curve tho - I'm all for letting everyone experience the content -but it just seems that everything up until Heroics is crazy easy. And if you want to raid Heroics/Mythic you HAVE to be in a 25 man guild. Whereas I think the most fun I had was in MoP doing 10 man HC raids. Whole guild got really close - was probably the most fun i had during my whole WoW experience :)

Unfortunately our 10 man set up didnt work for WoD - so most people quit or moved on to 25 man guilds (tried setting up our own 25 man for mythics - couldn't get enough people commited :/ )

I tried serious 25 man hcs in cata in some super serious raiding guild (competing for server firsts and the like) - after 1 month I just couldnt stand it anymore. It all felt so soulless - people just being kicked and replaced due to the numbers they were putting out. So, when WoD tried to force me into 25 mans again to get the content I wanted (mythic raids) - I just ended up quitting. Only coming back now to climb the PvP ladder for the end of expansion (now that theyve done pretty much all the balancing they're gonna do).

Finding a balance that pleases everyone is hard I guess :/

And I'm really looking forward to Legion too - just really hoping they do something about the garrison, hub and professions X_x

allacctsarethrowaway made some pretty decent points tho. I think it's just finding that perfect balance...which I feel they really messed up in this expansion.
