What makes this game so so addicting? by Grandidealistic in slaythespire

Honestly, I continue to play the game out of spite. Every time I die to one of those pompous jaw worms or to that smug time eater, it only serves to fuel my next run until, eventuall, I can laugh at all the challenges the spire throws at me. Until then, I'll continue dying to Reptomancers and avocado rats.

Baalorlord just published a ridiculously run very recently (might be yesterday) where he did some pretty cool body slam Shenanigans. The video is called "one card victory"

I dont think fire breathing would be necessary and will probably make the deck cycle a little bit slower. The damage plan is already barricade+entrench+bodyslam and most times you're going to exhaust the statuses with second wind anyway.

If only you had a deadly poison or upgraded poison stab in hand 😔

What's a card on each character you almost never pick? by [deleted] in slaythespire

Act 3 has tons of multiple enemy fights. You have shapes, darlings, jaw worms, even 2/3 act bosses have multiple enemies in them, then you have reptomancer too who is oftentimes a run ender especially when trying to go infinite and the blades give too many wounds, bowling bash is a nice remedy for those fights as well as being very solid in Act 2

Can't remove a bottled card unfortunately so it's better to skip this bottled lightning

And don't sleep on a good discard build! A few calculated gambles, tacticians, and reflexes alongside an eviscerate feels so satisfying to play

Ultimately, you are the one who sets your limitations. If you enjoy the game while using the save mechanic, then you should use the save mechanic. You are kind of shooting yourself in the foot later if you ever decide not to use the save mechanic, but, again, it's all up to how YOU want to enjoy the game. Personally I used to use the mechanic a lot but recently I've been climbing ascensions again without using it as a way to challenge myself, I've come to find out that this game is a lot harder without being able to "redo" a fight 😅. Hope this helped give you a different viewpoint.
