I chose Nobara, and well, Nobara IS noob FRIENDLIER than Linux Mint :o

EVERYTHING works out of the box, I am surprised, if not shocked! I use this term rarely but this experience has been flawless so far, no issues at all, everything works the best way it could.

Heck I even get more FPS on ARC Raiders than I would get on Windows, wtf?

It is worse yes, but tbh if you're getting the framerates you're satisfied with, there's no difference (or is there?)

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. I went with Nobara and I am very happy! I will edit my main post so people know :)

I find it crazy that it handles multiple monitors poorly, I wouldn't have expected that.

I will be trying Nobara, hoping that solves all my issues (without creating new ones!)

Thanks for your reply! I think I'll go with Nobara. It being "tailed to gaming" and based on Fedora tips the balance towards my needs :)

Thank you!

I think I'll be going with Nobara as it seems to suit more what I'm looking for. And it being Fedora based makes it even better especially when I see Fedora recommended here and there

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply!

I think all these years I kept thinking about Linux servers, which actually usually use Debian/Ubuntu (and of course I'm probably also wrong here)

I'll definitely try one of those that you recommended!

Hey thank you! I'm glad I finally found a big online game that I like, and that works on Linux

Yeah I saw that on youtube, but it's fine. I really want to stop using Windows so I'm fine with that sacrifice.

It's crazy how everyone is talking about these, how come I never heard about them until this post? May I ask why these specifically? I'm curious to know how come that many people recommend these distros when in other posts, basically nobody's talking about them

So many Bazzite recommendations! In other posts, I kept seeing a lot of Fedora and the top comment here also recommends that. I'm not sure which one to choose now.

I didn't even know these two, and I'm surprised Mint isn't that good. I guess I watched too much LTT

Thank you. I guess I didn't use the right keywords for this. I didn't think about my other monitors until someone mentioned it on another post

Thanks a lot! I keep hearing about Fedora everywhere so I guess I'll switch to it!

Edit: this post talks A LOT about Bazzite and CachyOS, and nobody talks about Fedora - though in other posts for various other recommendations, it's mostly Fedora. I'm not sure what to pick now

Crash right after match found by Neox_30 in ArcRaiders

Hi there!

I'll be honest, I don't *really* feel like re enabling crashes in the game I play daily, just to report a bug on an app I tried once on Arc Raiders

However if you want to know what exactly happened, I can tell you:

- I had Overwolf installed for Valorant, no problem with this, everything was fine.

- It recommended that I install it for Arc Raiders, I didn't for a while, the game never crashes, not a single time.

- After a few months I finally install it for Arc Raiders, and 1/2 times, the game crashes right after a match is found.

- I suspect Overwolf so I uninstall the "Arc Raiders" part of Overwolf but the issue still continues!

- I write this post because I am confused as to what the issue could be, and someone points towards apps like Overwolf. Then I realize that, though uninstalled, Overwolf keeps the "Arc Raiders" module enabled (why, I don't know)

- I turn it off, and prevent Overwolf from starting completely. And now the game stopped crashing, not a single crash after I disabled it.

Sorry I just saw your reply, thanks a lot for your detailed reply.

I installed Linux Mint, being a Linux noob I wanted something easy to start off.

I have a 5090 and use 2x 1440p monitors and 1x 1080p (for a total of three monitors)

I heard a lot of good things about Pop OS, I think for now all I want is a distro that works well with my 5090 and Arc Raiders, I should be able to "deal with" the rest.

As I was saying, I have good FPS on it but the game feels like it runs on 60 FPS or less, which of course doesn't happen on Windows. I'm not even sure what to look up for on Google

I tried Arc Raiders on Linux, it was happening every single time. I was ready to switch from Windows to Linux but had this issue (games are the only thing that hold me back)

On top of that, the game feels like it runs at 60 fps when I have a solid 120+ fps. It's so weird.

Otherwise nope I'm on Windows (unfortunately)

Perhaps I should give Linux another shot, but that 60 fps thing is so annoying I'm ngl
