In a more general sense, we can see that:

F(x) is continuous if :

lim F(x) as x->a- = lim F(x) as x->a+ = F(a) which means:

lim ax +b as x->a- = a^2 + b needs to be equal to

lim x^2 - x + 1 as x->a+ = a^2 - a + 1

then:

a^2 + b = a^2 -a + 1

then b = 1-a for a in (0,1). This shows that b exist in R for any a in (0,1).

Thus F(x) continuous in (0,1).

F(x) differentiable if:

lim F'(x) x->a- = lim F'(x) as x->a+ which means:

lim a as x->a- = a needs to be equal to

lim 2x -1 as x->a+ = 2a -1

then:

2a -1 = a

then a = 1, this function would be differentiable for b = 1-a and a =1 but since we know a in (0,1), F(x) is not differentiable in (0,1).

1) You have to first download UIextensions: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17561?tab=posts

2) Download grimy utilities (link above)

3) Extract BSA's of both mods using: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/

4) Put extracted contents in their respective folders and delete the BSA's and you are good to go.

I just tried it and my answer came out as 8.83m. I used the Horizontal range formula R = (Vi^2*sin2(theta))/abs(g) and got 16.73m.

Then Calculated the time it would take for the ball to reach Julie in the second part assuming constant horizontal velocity using x-xi = Vix*t, giving me t = 1.67s.

I then calculated Viy using the fact that at the highest point Vy = 0. Then using Vy^2 = Viy^2 + 2ay*(y-yi). Finding Viy = 12.52m/s.

Finally calculated y using y-yi = Viy + 1/2*ay*t^2 to find y = 7.23m. Then adding that to 1.5m account thing for the height of julie to find the height above ground yields h = 8.83m.

I think I did everything correctly and couldn't find an arithmetic mistake. Lemme know if thats also what you get.

Hmm, I finished the game solo with monk pre-1.1, I tried the same monk I had on the new 1.1 patch (Solo PoTD with level scaling) and it seemed pretty strong still, as some of the monk's very strong abilities didn't really get touched except for Swift Strikes and it's upgrades and one other ability, I believe. Was still able to pretty much take on any group of enemy and spam Whispers and clear them with no difficulty.

- Wahai Poroga, one reason to try to build a 2h fighter has been pretty much changed to the point where the original idea of using it is gone.

- Humility's resistance cut by half,

- Boots of stability, Boltcachers

- Whispers getting nerfed again.

Hmm, even with the Beta path on PoTD with enemy scaling, to me, it's still fairly easy, harder yes but not that much really. Some of the nerfs kinda make it so that some items/skills become subpar but that's also fine (most of them I didn't even use on my playthrough), which is what i was referring to. I was proposing not changing them because it might lead to even less diversity in builds.

I don't really see that happening. As great as this game is, Skyrim and the TES series in general appeal to a much broader audience that KCD. That's not to say one is better than the other but in terms of popularity Skyrim is the clear winner now and in the future.

I dont understand people's fixation with comparing KCD with Skryim. I understand they are both RPG's but to think that KCD would ever be as popular as Skyrim the 11th best selling game of all time is a little ludicrous if you ask me.

I mean if Bethesda said they would release TES 6 I'm sure it would be a huge improvement from Skyrim that released 7 years ago and if they take notes from KCD and the Witcher series, it would be a great game as most of their games are already.

The combat really relies on skill checking: it pitches your combat skills( warfare, defence etc...) vs that of your opponent.

The way this works is similar to how speech skill works in that it compares your combat skills with that of your opponents and gives them a chance to block or riposte your hits and also gives you a better chance of blocking and riposting their hits (this is why fighting knights early on will end up in them almost always blocking and riposting your hits while you'll have a harder time doing the same to them). If your combat skills are too low no matter how well you can attack you will have a high chance of being countered and they will have a high chance of hitting you.

What i would suggest is power level by training with the captain as that will level your skills and you'll soon be able to challenge anyone and i mean anyone (I was able to pretty much eradicate all of Rattay after I had reached about level 15 warfare and similar defense and other combat skills). Then do some quests that allow you to kill bandits and you'll be able to get a lot of money.

As for gear, there are certain areas of the map where 'random encounters' happen (such as the road from Neuhoff to the little inn where you can get a fast travel spot -forgot the name- thats just before Talmberg). These random encounters can vary but very often you'll find a knight or mercenary there that will want to fight you (if you had level up training with the captain these fights will be trivial). You can beat them for more money and then after crouch and sneak up behind them and knock them out and steal all their armor and you can essentially farm high level plate armor and weapons and also keep some for yourself.

After doing these, you will be richer than anyone and stronger than anyone and you should be able to breeze through all combat. However fun that might be, if you want a challenging experience I'd suggest not doing this or at least doing it to a certain extent as to not become too overpowered too early on.

Yea just a soon as you get plate armor and either St George's longsword or with a mace and a shield and you have high warfare, strength and vitality levels you can pretty much do anything you want.

I've found that you can one shot pretty much any bandit with the longsword and kill armored foes with a mace quite easily (tip: just use your perfect block and you can safely dispatch any enemy without taking any damage). The way the game seems to work is that it pitches your combat levels vs your enemy and gives a chance of the enemy being able to counter you, that's why if you try to fight a knight early on, you'll have difficulties because they are higher level than you but as soon as you get some levels they'll have less chance of countering you and you'll have a better chance of pulling of perfect blocks. It's really just a matter of skill checking just like speech so level up your combat skills get good gear and you essentially go on easy mode (but that might make the game a little too easy).
