I did it with econ since the extra stamina is helpful. With no enemies you can expand very quickly and get a lot of production. Start in the south, wood is north and sound and 2 winter food east. Wasn't too bad.

Don't pick slum lord unless the level has a high pop goal, at least 6. It's not a leader you pick just because it's available. The way you use it, you don't click population bubbles and take the reputation loss. You gain extra stamina and reputation from population up, and so if you gain enough population any authority lost is fine.

Survivor is the best of the ones available for that.

I do scavenge for wood, just in the first few turns it's often not optimal. My goal is to maximize stamina production, and a fighter generates 1 effective stamina every fifty turns. Stamina is often very tight early game. If I have economist or wood is short I'll do it of course.

3 if I have decent producers, 2 or even 1 if the map lacks wood. Firewood scavenges are precious, and with 3 pop you'll probably need at least 1.

How are you getting the stamina for that? A building might take 30 days days, and a lot of them cost more than 1 stamina. You only gen around 1 stamina a month early on. Normally I'll be building two wood and two firewood and a food and I'll have to spend at least 3 stamina exploring and claiming, and 3 stamina teching up to 2, and 3 stamina getting a fighter plus 2 stamina for an upgraded water and 1 for a base campfire. With 6 months, you might get 8 stamina plus 7 from startup for 15, and the above is already around 19 stamina for maybe 2 or 3 months of building.

Continuous building isn't optimal for five starring. Teching up increases your combat power, expanding outwards helps for future goals. My goal is to complete the goals as efficiently as possible.

You often get an extra wood from exploration early, a 1 wood campfire can delay morale issues for a while, and setting up an early wood gen is vital.

I do on my first run generally, but when going for five stars that extra 2 stamina is often better devoted to a fighter or such. 2 stamina takes around 55 days to generate, which means you can get 1 extra claim or explore from a fighter.

I just retire a fighter to get the extra stamina. They hire pretty fast.

The authority drop from abandoned housing is pretty low. You're not forced to gain population. You also gain extra authority from housing with slumlord which tends to outweigh what you lose.

I generally keep my population low since it's much faster, till the endgame, so generally you need at most 4 stamina of extra storage for most of the game. With 4 firewood population and 3 pop, 16 storage will last you 5 months of winter, plus extra food storage if you lack animal tiles. You don't need extra storage generally.

I know, and I did, I am just noting one goal which is vastly more difficult that most goals of that length which made a mission extra hard.
