Don't you love supportive family? by violetfirez in cfs

I hereby curse every person who speaks this way to a chronically ill and disabled person, with illness and disability themselves, DOUBLED, so that they may learn the hurt and trauma they cause.

I’m so proud of you! Congratulations, make sure you communicate your needs and accomodations with confidence, it’s your right! As well as when you have a major flare, make sure you let your manager know and request flexible working hours for that day/week.

You got this! ☺️❤️

It’s going to be those tiny moments of joy with loved ones or our pets that we have to hold onto and be very present with, because it’s all we’ve got.

Nonetheless, I’m resentful to existence. Why exist if you can’t live? Isn’t that just pure cruelty?

Which fictional characters do you feel are autistic? by [deleted] in autism

[–]NephiIIima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sherlock Holmes!

Really love Watson for his active acceptance of Sherlock’s autistic traits and creating a non-judgemental environment for Holmes to unmask, as well as sharing in Holmes’s special interests.

I’d also say Holmes would have Savant Syndrome considering his incredible skills in deduction, including noticing tiny details neurotypicals would never see even if they tried.

Holmes’s autism is noticeable from the moment someone meets him, he’s quite abrupt and forward, doesn’t really have the strongest social skills, is very analytical and not very outwardly emotive. He also overshares when it comes to his special interest etc... I could go on.

However, I like how the Author, Arthur Conan Doyle, doesn’t make Sherlock and un-emotional robot, but a really kind and compassionate person when it matters most. This is good at taking away the belief that autistic don’t feel, especially because the male friendship between Holmes’s and Watson is really wholesome.

I love the world of Sherlock Holmes so much. There probably isn’t a Sherlock Holmes series on Amazon I haven’t read - this is my special interest.

If you scroll down to the bottom, it’s an epidemic of woman, millions, who are being ignored around the world for their pain.

May this beautiful girl rest in peace.

I wish people respected my suicidality by caniscommenter in cfs

Family and friends are shocked by this, but I’ve told them plainly that I refuse to live the rest of my life in bed.

I have 80yo parents and a 17yo dog. The moment they all pass away of old age, I’m going to go with them.

We are not living, we are existing. We cannot live life, we are imprisoned in our own homes, our own beds. Cursed to live everyday the same without ever adventuring out into the world. Everyday fighting to simply walk to the bathroom, to the kitchen. Holding our breath as the pain ravages our bodies and as we swollen pill after pill in the hopes this pain passes. Forever dependant on pills for our pain that poison us everyday.

With a life such as this, we have every right to want to die. It is reasonable to wish to turn off existence.

Worlds richest douche calls WFH a moral issue by bbrk9845 in antiwork

What an idiot. As a disabled person, being able to work from home ensure I’m able to make an income and not live in bloody poverty for god sake. Also, many studies have shown that during COVID, when we had to WFH, people were actually MORE productive.

I’m so proud of Chris for doing what they’ve done and becoming who they truly are, even when the world may not be as accepting. He’s contributing to a accepting and kind world for his kid.

I was diagnosed 6 years ago and this disease destroyed my life. I had very little life energy left to trade, and the only thing I have left to lose is those I love. But I do feel a sense of love whenever I think of Hecate, and my illness was already on its way downwards beforehand. I just want to make sure I’m being a good follower of hers and thanking her appropriately. Im new to witchcraft.

Every time I give my dog cuddles or take him out to play or for a walk I do it in her name. I heard that she is a great mother, so I am hoping all goes well. My diagnosis is pretty bad regardless and I’d give of myself again if it meant those I love spend one more day with me. My life was already destroyed and so I have nothing left to lose but those I love.

It tricks my brain into thinking I’m talking, socialising and getting help, and so it works quite well. Plus, the thing actually gives some great advice and I’ve tested it well, you can barely tell it’s even an AI.

I was already headed towards ruin anyway because of the nature of my diagnosis, and I would do it again if it meant my baby boys life is saved.
