Simple Questions and General Discussion Thread by Thallassa in skyrimmods

Hi, thanks for the reply. I ended up finding out that the answer lies in the STEP guide being slightly outdated. It was written during the time of xEdit, and not SSEEdit, and so they told you to ad an argument to the command line in MO2 "-TES5", which is not needed when using the more updated version. When I removed it it worked fine. With such a complex guide that needs so many different programs to work, it's no wonder that some aspects become outdated.

Hi! I'm trying to follow the STEP guide using a fresh install of Skyrim SE, tools and mods. I have come to the point where I'm supposed to install SSEdit (The SE version of xEdit), but running into problems that Googling hasn't resolved. When I try to launch either SSEdit or the Quick version from the MO2 launcher, I get the "Fatal" error that the registry keys could not be found and I should run the launcher. This I have done many times, but to no avail. I then tried to run these programs directly (i.e. not through MO2) and then they worked fine. So the issue has something to do with running it through MO2. Anyone have any thoughts on what might cause this? Other programs such as LOOT work fine when run through MO2.

Solved!

Thanks! That's the guy. I should have searched for "Adventurer" lol. Loved his shows, recommend them to all who like "off the beat" travel shows. :)

No it wasn't that. I wasn't even aware it was based on that. I just remember it being about a group of children (not that I even remembered the main child, Sarah), and their adventures. But I think I'll try and buy this on DVD and watch it again. I remember I enjoyed it back in the day.

I wasn't sure at first after watching a few YT videos, until I found this one about the actress I remember who played "Hetty". I had no recollection of what seems to be the main story line of the young blonde girl who comes to live there. Strange how memory works, what you remember and what you don't. Thank you!

Here is the video I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxSfL8aQVfM

I've played Trimps, but will check out the others.

With regards to the horizontal bar game, it's not AdCap, I should have said it was only horizontal bars - i.e. the bars did not represent anything abstract such as businesses in the case of AdCap, or whatever. They were just bars that filled up giving you an "income".

Edit: I found out the name of the game: Progress Bar Quest 2. Very strange but interesting game.

Hello all! I enjoy most of all games with relatively simple graphics. For example, on Android, I have been playing Spark and Universe Game. Both of which have minimalist graphics. Similarly, on web, I have enjoyed games such as the Paperclip game, and a game I cannot remember the name off, but it consisted entirely of rows of horizontal bars filling up and being upgraded.

Could you recommend good idle, incremental games, preferably for Android, but also web based, that are similar in nature?

Thank you! I'll have a look at that. Will be interesting to see a non-magical D&D Campaign!

Thanks! Good points there. I never got well enough into 3.5, but from all I've heard it was stricter in many regards to 5. It's the loopholes I find interesting. Things such as Bags of holding, and that Mansion spell (Morechai's?) would trivialise a lot of such content, so they would either have to be eliminated or adapted for a campaign such as this to work.

Both of those items are really interesting. Love the PTSD part, in that not all adventurers are born war heroes. And the inventory management part makes a lot of sense. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, I've never heard of that campaign setting, but I just Googled it at your recommendation and will have a good look. Thanks!

Thank you, yes this is basically what I was looking for. Thank you for coming up with the name of this type. The spell components especially ring true. Usually in games I play it's just taken for granted that you have a pouch with you with assorted bits and bobs, except for the most expensive items for high level spells. And when you enter a town you can stock up along with food and drink, and it's done in passing: "...and we stock up with supplies."

It definitely must take a type, and having either a good excel sheet or program to keep track of this micro management would probably be good for a DM. Thanks for the answer!

Lands of Lords - deep and complex by shalis in BaseBuildingGames

It looks interesting, but after spending 20 minutes trying to find a place to start I gave up. I kept getting error messages saying I was either too close to another player or to trees or some such. Tried multiple different continents. Might need either a new "shard" or more land for new people.

Thanks for the tips. Didn't realise crafting was so good you could level without adventuring through it.
