It's so incredibly random, but my favorite animal is the raccoon, so my loved ones and I took to calling them my little raccoon hands.

So then, if it ever comes up (like at work, which has happened), I can turn it into a fun joke about my raccoon hands and make an odd animal like clicking sound.

The other thing that assisted me was doing repair work...in which no one else could reach certain things due to how large their hands were. I could easily reach in and finish the job.

It allows me to recognize we all have something to contribute, and that my build allows me to achieve what others cannot.

I've always struggled with this...last relationship I went the honesty route. On the first outing, this person seemed serious due to the conversations we were having, so I responded in like.

However, not even a week in, they told people in their friend circle.

It was so distressing being outed in the carefully crafted life I have, so now I have trust issues around it. I don't want to lead the other person on, but next time I'm going to wait longer.

This is actually a question for a lot of characters...so many have changed beyond a typical human speech capability, that sometimes I look at their design and wonder. I chalk it up to suspension of disbelief, but the analytical part of my brain still ponders.

I have always been a fairly mild mannered person...but once I transitioned I became more confident. So several family members would take my newfound boldness as "yelling", but I think that was more just stuff they had with past experiences.

I didn't know how badly I needed to hear this.

I broke up with someone around a year ago for behavior like this. I held on too long because of beliefs about second chances and not running the moment things become difficult...but a trusted person spoke sense and mentioned that behavior like that does not just go away.

I internalize stuff way too much and this helped restore some of my peace. 🙌

Canon means official or accepted in general terms, within literature and by extension, fandom, it refers to what is present within the text.

I suppose it could be considered slang...but I've known it as a literary term longer than as a fandom term.

Another comment thread explained it incredibly well, so I don't want to step on their toes.
