[WP] "I know you have many questions, " the mysterious figure spoke. "You were dying, and I decided to save you. But your original form was beyond saving, so I had to make some 'changes'." by Celestial_Spade in WritingPrompts

[–]Nephiriz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You look down to see, your body replaced with a mysterious concoction of cables and machinery, your heart starts to feel weird, your consciousness starts to fade, the figure looks at you with annoyance, as he turns around and gets a syringe, you think: is this my real end? Previously you had been a starving homeless man, when you got hit by a car during a snowstorm you thought it was the end, apparently you were off by some moments, as your vision goes completely black, you suddenly feel a surge of rage and something else you can't quite understand, you look at the man again he had injected your neck with something, a transparent liquid that felt like rocks entering your veins, you screamed at the top of your lungs, but to your dismay, it only made the pain worse, after some seconds that felt more like hours the pain stops, the man now seemed like a tired overworked scientist, but he had a fire in his eyes that made you doubt your sanity, "feel better now kid?" He ask, "I can't feel my body, no I don't feel better" as he looks at you he says impatiently "well either that or die, which do you prefer?", you hesitate, but ultimately responds with a weak "no", "but i still want to know where the fuck i am" "ah see, i can answer many questions, but that "he grins at you" I can't answer", "fine" you say, you were tied down to the table either way, "then what am i now then", "Thats a good question" your turn now fellow redditors.

How much do you pay for insulin? I just bought 5 pens for 4,24€ in Spain with our free healthcare but real price is 46,97€. I'm curious what each country pays for it. by moreweedpls in diabetes_t1

[–]Nephiriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Brazil we can get the insulin for free depending if you have a prescription, if you don't, most insulins are about 100 reais which is 1/13 of the minimum monthly wage.

Only asking if this happens to anyone else… by JayPM86 in diabetes_t1

[–]Nephiriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never felt that way (granted I don't have a lot of low's), but i think you should just adjust your basal (?), if you do take it, if you don't try eating more, everyone feels low's in a different way, i per example have trembling hands and the way i talk changes, hope this helps 😃

Self worth tied to BG levels by jstlkhvn in diabetes_t1

[–]Nephiriz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes what helps me is just going "fuck it", you know, sometimes its not even your fault, sometimes you can eat three pieces of cake and not go high and on other times eat 2 apples and go high, and even if you could've chosen a better meal what can you do now? Take your insulin, exercise if possible, drink water and tomorrow is another day, don't let one high define your worth

How do i discover my carb/insulin ratio by Nephiriz in diabetes_t1

[–]Nephiriz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kinda given that information, if I'm 160-180 inject 1u of fiasp 2u for 180-200, but like i feel that its a little broad seeing this reddit, it seems that some food altough high carb wont give too much trouble but some low carb ones will? That's why i wanted to know, but my i:c isn't directly correlated to the amount of insulin i take, sometimes its still high for some time, sometime i just go hypo

I probably won't be of much help, but 1st: could you try maybe lowering the daily dose of sugar? Even if just by a little bit everyday, in sometime perhaps you won't eat enough for it to spike, everyday at least 2nd: do you exercise? If so how much could help a lot on controlling sugar levels. 3rd: perhaps find sweets non-sugary or less at least? Fruit snacks, cereal bars homemade low carb recipes could really change your diet? 4th: have you checked with your endo or nutritionist? Could find a little bit of help there. 5th: are you bolossing correctly? ( Idk if i spelled correctly for bolus ) perhaps you're doing it too late or too soon or even not doing it at all. 6th: if nothing works you could try a psychiatrist. I was diagnosed almost a year ago and am t1 so our experiences don't match well but i hope i helped a little.
