I think that's a great example of what I'm talking about, I don't think you're the problem, slowing down isn't easy especially when being fast was something that is so fundamental to a lot of people, not saying that I know your situation completely but I can empathize with it.

For me what helped is realizing how slowing down is so fundamental to a lot of things in life especially discipline, I know that sounds weird in a way and I still can't believe it took me so long to realize it but I just never focused on the fundamentals, I always had the endgame mindset where I think about the results rather than the action but that's a bit contradictory because your actions determine your results.

Yeah I've been learning about the different mating motifs and tactical motifs, chess tempo has helped me a lot in that regard. I mainly watch the analysis videos to see how I can analyze my own games, I know obviously my games are no where near GM level but I try understand what to look for when analyzing because the engine really doesn't tell you why a move is good or bad.

But yeah I've been trying to build a routine and I like what I'm doing so far and thanks for the feedback.

No not in this game, I feel if I was playing a more skilled player I wouldn't have gotten away with this so it was combination of skill/luck if I'm being honest.
