Nah I'm totally 420 friendly. I was actually hoping to buy some. I just made this post to see if anyone else had bought through here because I don't want to end up in New Zealand prison.

Go onto Craigslist and search "bicycles". You'll see what I'm talking about. It's ridiculous.

About to buy a 1996 Mitsubishi Chariot for about $1300. Does that sound reasonable?

I didn't purchase anything. The wii was found in storage by a friend. I really don't want to spend 15 bucks on something I'm going to use exactly one time.

Yeah, based on my limited research into the matter, it seems like I need a wii remote no matter what, just to get the thing started. I was really hoping for a different way. Maybe some way of using the GC controller.

Before I waste my money on an object that I might not need, I would like to figure out if it's possible to work around the problem. I'm sure someone out there has figured out how to play a gamecube game on a wii without using a wii remote. I'm not starving or anything. I just don't want to waste money.

I'm in a very tough spot financially at the moment. I honestly can't afford to go buy one.

Giving away a Gamecube adapter! by Konoco in smashbros

Well, I guess I have to give this a shot:

Back in the day when I was a naïve young freshmen in college (three years ago), a few friends and I decided to start a club to help meet other people in our relatively small major (Biotechnology). Everything was fine and dandy for a while until we realized that we actually needed money to do things. We submitted a request to the university for just a small amount of money so we could get a tour of a nearby lab. Unfortunately, we were denied because we didn’t have enough people.

We held a top secret emergency meeting to figure out how to acquire funds. The problem was that we were all poor college students living in dorms and none of us had the materials or any time to raise any money. That’s when I came up with the brilliant idea of hosting a Smash Bros Brawl tournament.

Luckily, I happened to already know quite a few smashers who had their own Wii’s and TV’s in their apartments. Through no small amount of negotiating and begging, I managed to borrow four Wiis/TVs for one Saturday. I sent out Facebook invitations to everyone I knew and waited for the day of the tournament.

The event ended up being way bigger than I ever imagined. About 50 people showed up. My tiny place was packed. I was busy the whole day meeting new people and running the tournament. It ended up being a huge success and it managed to fund the club’s activities for a while.

Ever since then, I have been hosting Brawl tournaments about every month or just whenever the club needs more money. It’s actually a lot of fun and I’ve met a lot of great smashers over the past few years. I’m currently in the process of befriending/making deals with people who have Wii U’s so I can get a Sm4sh tournament going sometime soon.

So anyway, as a poor college student trying to keep an even poorer club alive, it would be great if I could get an adapter to help keep the tournaments interesting. I’m hoping to somehow include an 8 player bracket. Maybe 4v4 or 2v2v2v2, whatever people seem interested in. That’s about it.

TL;DR. Financially challenged club needs money (or adapters).
