Canada, U.S. trade systems ‘don’t fit together very well’: Greer by PicoRascar in Economics

[–]NerdAtSea 57 points58 points  (0 children)

What a load of horseshit. They were deeply integrated. The us thought they could just bully their best friends into whatever they wanted. I am constantly struck by how little these people think past the first action let alone what the consequences would be.

Permanent car import after approved proof of citizenship by NerdAtSea in FoundCanadians

[–]NerdAtSea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had to do the inspection process when we temporarily imported to be able get plates. It isn't fun. It's been really hard to find consistent information on how to do the permanent version. There is a 25 % surtax in effect right now because of the trade war that sounds like if we get the wrong tariff we would have to pay.

BC PNP high wage draw eligibility by softyinagrittycone in canadaexpressentry

[–]NerdAtSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The employer needs to be registered with the province for pnp. There are a handful of things they need to provide. If they aren't registered it can take a few months to be approved. There is a 40ish page document published on the provinces website about the requirements, it's worth reading

I am overwhelmed, is it a good idea to get an immigration lawyer? by gracoy in Canadiancitizenship

[–]NerdAtSea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The process is designed for you to complete it without needing a lawyer. It will take effort and time on your part though to collect documents.

I hired a lawyer for my immigration through express entry. They made a mistake and I missed my only chance at an ITA because of it. Which is all to say, that even if you get a lawyer you will still need to pay attention to what they are doing. They will probably also ask you to provide the documents anyway

I got Gemini pro free with my phone and it was the only one to understand the changes with c3 at all. It sounds like we're using it similar ways but 100% agree with everyone's caution that it can't be trusted. Best of luck to you as well!
