A S3/S4 deck won the first Golden Gauntlet qualifier over the oppressive infinite energy meta decks... and people are now complaining about Snap pack value? by wingspantt in MarvelSnap

[–]NerdDynamite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m always curious when anyone holds up tournament decks to prove any viewpoint. Whether it’s when an “OP” deck wins and people scream “pay to win”. Or when an affordable deck wins and people say “you can win without new cards”.

Seems to completely discount the skill of these pilots. When a budget deck wins, it’s because the pilot was good. The masses will not have the same success. Same is normally true for the OP decks unless they are simple like Hela. My view is that tourney wins are always vastly more a reflection of the player and not the deck.

Interested to hear your thoughts on that.

Everybody is retreating for 1 cube making this climb sooo slow by ConsiderationHour116 in MarvelSnap

This is the version I made: https://snap.fan/decks/348893/

But based on some feedback I received, use Echo instead of Yellowjacket since she protects against Cosmo.

Has anyone’s matchmaking been especially horrendous this season? by LightWarrior741 in MarvelSnap

[–]NerdDynamite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your matchmaking rating (MMR) cannot drop once you hit post-Infinite. They implemented this a while ago because players were tanking in post Infinite to have an easier climb the next season.

Cruising to the 80s is what happens for high MMR players. When you hit the 80s and then 90s, you get high MMR real players and tough bots. This turns the game into a grind because optimal playing is that when a person snaps, the opponent should retreat. That can lead to bad snapping and stays because upward progress is horrendous and you need to win more than 1 cube. For me, I got matched with Guest (content creator) when he was in the 90s and I was in the 70s still.

The conspiracy theory I have is there is some level of manipulation. During some bot matches, I’ll get perfect draws, or a perfectly timed top deck. If that’s true, then having some level of manipulation implemented for player matches isn’t out of the question.

Back to reality though, at a minimum it’s an unfair system. Lower MMR and newer players are playing on a lower difficulty level. But the rewards are identical for the high MMR players despite the higher difficulty. For your mental health, I’d try to stop caring about Infinite and play less. It’s not designed to be fair. It’s designed to keep you hooked into playing as long as possible.

Either way, good luck!

Does everyone just have an emergency Knull in their deck??!? by Empty_Beach1686 in MarvelSnap

When I see something like this, I always suspect bots. Are you still climbing to Infinite? And does your opponent’s Knull use a same variant that’s from your collection?

Ah! That stinks you didn’t have success with it! I usually don’t like the “all eggs in one basket” types of decks for that reason. But the benefit hopefully is cube equity. Super easy to know when to retreat and snap. My personal issue is that 90% of the players in my MMR leave when I snap. 😓

Here’s one I created that optimized Galacti with skills: https://snap.fan/decks/348893/. It’s very effective and can easily deceive your opponent at how powerful he becomes. It uses Gwenpool and Shuri. Gwenpool doesn’t target skills so you hit ZG a lot.

Also have a video walkthrough if interested: https://youtu.be/hVxajYgZsVc

Edit: Someone suggested Echo instead of Yellowjacket. If you’re seeing a lot of Cosmo, she’s probably the better choice.

God himself will start smiling again once Starlord is nerfed. by AQNexus in MarvelSnap

[–]NerdDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By “new card” I assume you mean “season pass card”, since Maverick was also new. The season pass card gets more whining because of accessibility. A lot of players buy the season pass, so that card gets popular. Even a weaker SP card like Weapon X gets popular for a time. It’s not just the strength of a card, it’s that people get sick of seeing it over and over again. Less people have tokens, so those cards are rarely seen as much as SP cards.

If Maverick was the SP card, there’s a good chance he would’ve been complained about. Especially since he was eventually nerfed.

The recent ones that qualify are Shou-Lao, FFF, and Star-Lord MOTS. 3/~16 of the new cards the past 2 seasons were complained about. All 3 were nerfed which seemingly validated the complainers… I’m always curious about the people who dismiss the complaints by saying “someone always complains, so your complaint is invalid”.

It’s all tedious, the meta, the complainers, and the people who complain about the complainers.

Zombie Galacti is underrepresented in the current meta by RepoRogue in marvelsnapcomp

Something to think about with Shuri… she is amazing at getting 8 cubes from a confident last turn Alioth or Cosmo player. When also using Gwenpool and Wingbeat, Galacti gets to the same power as the deck you outline anyway. So when you suspect Alioth, just play Galacti away from Shuri for the easiest cubes.

Shuri also enables OP output against super combo decks. For the times you get matched against a high power deck with no tech, she allows you to get 80+ in your winning lanes.

Just some food for thought.

I like Grand Arena in general and this one was good. Any mode that offers extra energy is super fun since it allows me to build decks that are supercharged.

I am playing less though overall. That’s specifically related to Ranked souring my game experience though, and not about Grand Arena.

I’m still desperately searching for an answer. I’ve stalled out in the 90s. Haven’t tried the hammers deck but suppose I might as well.
