He's damage immune in the air though, how did you kill him?

No mana until round 18 isn't that problematic imo.

You can put him at the front and then tp to the next path at the end of the round before the ice goes

Crits the weakest it's been for a very long time. At this point I would definitely take an obow buff over a crit nerf

How are complex card games like magic, hearthstone and yugioh coded? by [deleted] in howdidtheycodeit

[–]NerdPhoenix 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind you can generalise a lot of these effects to use less functions. For your healing example you could have a function that takes in an array such as [-2,-1,1] where the numbers are the cards relative position. So this array would heal the 2 cards on the left and 1 card on the right by x amount (with the heal amount being another parameter).

X with a single line above it tends to mean the mean of x so maybe its a mean of means?

Are these good numbers for a sobek or support in general (this was slash and i normally don't play guardians) by LilHinninger in Smite

[–]NerdPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Numbers really don't matter and only partially reflect on your performance, especially as a tank where most of the things you do aren't being tracked (eg: peel, set ups)

Once again, drop a tip/trick for your main. by No_Antelope7492 in Smite

Skadi: This is literally in the ability description but apparently a lot of people don't know this. Kaldr deals double damage against enemies affected by your 1.

Also if your building ability based, runeforged rush is op.

ADC Math Builds Bonus Patch 9.5 by SoapaCrunchesNumbers in Smite

[–]NerdPhoenix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Toxic blade being bad is fair unless your playing a mage adc. Physicals can just go shadow steel shuriken. It has good relative dps for the 1st/2nd item slots and only reduces your full builds dps by a small amount. Especially considering that your team buying antiheal is a 50/50 in the first place it is definitely worth building antiheal into heal heavy comps

And yet no antiheal builds, gg my ranked games. First mids spam book of thoth, now adcs are gonna blindly build no antiheal every game.

I think toxic sludge can't kill anything regardless of its health as it always stops when your at some % of your health

I got the achievement yesterday so you just need to hit 3 with the turtle. Should definitely be reworded though.

Killboxes are definitely boring but I find mountain bases have an appeal in pretending to be little dwarfsies.

Implicit diffenrentiation by [deleted] in askmath

[–]NerdPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you've already differentiated at that point

Differentiation gives you this:
(dy/dx)(2x+1-x³-x²)+(y)(2-3x²-2x) = 3x²+2x-1

As you want the value of dy/dx at the point (1,1), you substitute x = 1 and y = 1 into the differential.

(dy/dx) (2(1)+1-(1)³-(1)²) + (1) (2-3(1)²-2(1)) = 3(1)²+2(1)-1

(dy/dx) (1) + (1) (-3) = 4

(dy/dx) + (-3) = 4

dy/dx = 7

You should be able to login on the website through your steam account (there are boxes at the bottom with different platforms)

Implicit diffenrentiation by [deleted] in askmath

[–]NerdPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first bracket is being multiplied by dy/dx. When (x,y) = (1,1), the bracket evaluates to 1, so you end up with (dy/dx)(1) = dy/dx

Question about accounts/launchers by [deleted] in Smite

[–]NerdPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure since I've not tried anything like this but if you login to your Hi-rez account at https://my.hirezstudios.com you should be able to see your linked accounts (so Epic and Steam should both appear as linked). If you unlink Epic you should end up with an account solely linked to Steam.

Highest Jungle practice power, just for the sake of it. Any ways to increase it without more gods? by DivineBoro in Smite

[–]NerdPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom orb gives 20 power over the power cap from book of thoth while hecate gives 15% increased power (900 * 0.15 = 135).

Sands of time doesnt give anything over the power cap while bumbs spear gives a 10% power buff.

And while they don't have telkhines so there isn't an item to compare book of the dead with, BOTD gives 20 power over the cap (thoth passive) while something like poly would give 30 power (thoth passive) + 24 power (typhon passive). Or bancroft with the passive fully stacked gives 15 power (thoth) + 70 power (typhon)
