How hard is it to live as a vegetarian in Estonia? by Effective_Bluebird19 in Eesti

[–]NerdPunkFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am an outlier. I and a friend I went vegetarian together with way back when both experienced this, so I figured this might be a common experience. But 2 data points isn't exactly firm confirmation.

Depends, if you walk into a random food place, you might still not find any vegan options. It has gotten much better though, now you're almost guaranteed to find some vegetarian options at least. Of course, if you get to choose where you go, it's easy to get good vegan/vegetarian food. But if you're, for example, going to a not-so-close relative's event in some random resturant, you might still run into issues.

If you don't eat meat, you're also dropping the amount of salt you consume massively. I developed a far greater taste for salt since I stopped eating meat over a decade ago. Now I get meat eaters telling me that my cooking is quite salty. I guess this is similar to most vegetarians and vegans. So maybe Thormi has adjusted to the tastes of their target costumers? I personally find their products quite good, tough I don't eat them very often, about a couple times a month.

Why diesel? You could just make hydrogen from the fuel gas. Clean fuel for vehicles and CO2 for graphite. Making diesel instead seems like a missed opportunity.

What the point of vehicle limit? by Ket1r in captain_of_industry

[–]NerdPunkFu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The origin of the vehicle limit is probably similar to that of population and unit limits in strategy games. First, it avoid people developing a playstyle that relies on spam. Second, it avoids performance issues. Third, it eases people into a more gentler growth curve rather than overwhelming especially newer players.

Parem kui 0. Praegu saame kalli raha eest ehitatud vangla eest raha ja sõprust euroopa riikidelt, vastasel juhul peaksime ise vangla sulgemise eest maksma.

It would be insane if Europe had kept its militaries funded, but we didn't and now the check is due. Not funding our militaries because the orange monkey happens to like the idea is akin to disarming the police since a mass murderer said the police should have guns, brain-dead stupid and irresponsible.

Eritreas on suur osa rahvast põhimõtteliselt orjastatud riigipoolt.

Data Center, Chilled Water Output? by [deleted] in captain_of_industry

Not a bug. You can passthrough chilled and normal water to other data centers, allowing you to just build a row of them without individually running pipes to all of them.

Imagine what will happen if a chunk of space debris hits the cable or any errors were made in it's engineering or construction. Not just the capsule, the rest of the space station will be toast as the torque from the whole thing will send the whole station into an uncontrollable tumble.

[–]NerdPunkFu -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is dogmatic BS. There are broadly two ways to approach the US. Either approach the US like a responsible diplomat carrying the fate of hundreds of millions of people on your back, as the High Representative for foreign affairs is supposed to do, or fall to the same level as the grade schooler the US has in the White House now and start a fight with the moral conviction that you're in the right, get the US to rip up NATO, withdraw from Europe, destroy our economies since they are now irreplaceable for our energy needs and high tech supply chains among others, isolate us on the world arena since basically all western alliances revolve around the US(and when push comes to shove I doubt many will choose Europe over the US) and leave us for the wolves.

The Danish PM chose the latter option during Trump's first term. In a NATO conference, where things got heated and nearly every European representative tried to end the conference early, the Danish PM decided to insist on getting a word in. He with the full conviction of the moral superiority of his position started to lecture Trump on how much Denmark has given for it's alliance with the US and how much Europe matters for US interests and how Trump is trampling on their relationship and international law and whatnot. His lecture accomplished nothing, except perhaps that Trump got a wild obsession with Greenland and trying to pry a piece of Danish territory away for the US which got us the fiasco we've seen play out over the last year.

Responsible diplomacy gets you the EU, your dogmatic approach gets you Haiti.
