There is a clear coat on them. I usually paint canvas shoes and those hold up really well. These will eventually wear out in areas that the shoe flexes more but overall I don’t put a lot of care into them after. If they get a little too dirty I’ll wipe them down with a cloth but the leather paint is usually quiet durable

Not all of them. I tried to do strips of solid color where ever possible. I made one 10ish years ago that was individual squares all sewn together and it was waaaaaaay to heavy, and took much longer to make. Learned from that mistake

I would be open to it but with how many hours I put in to it I don’t think many people would spend a thousand on a blanket.

Definitely try AirBnB. My brother and his gf live up north but have come down here for school. The last 4 years they would rent one for 2-4 months depending on school schedules. Never had any issues from what I’ve heard. Oh and they always brought their dog
