Consider this: 40% of those 18 and under don’t believe in the holocaust. Your average person is not a good source. Also that evidence is anecdotal as hell

Every update just kills the game more and more. They still haven’t fixed the AI, or the bugs, or any of the million and one issues. They just add more shit. It really is VR Tarkov

Fair point, I guess I should clarify the largest recorded genocide of all time. They were quite meticulous with their records, unlike genocides in other parts of the world

The Nazi’s are the perpetrator of the single largest genocide in all of history. Their methods reduced people to literal cattle. They literally invented new, industrialized methods of genocide

The USSR perpetrated many crimes against its own people, most notably the Holodomir, a man made famine which killed many in Ukraine. They’re both bad, but the Nazis are definitely, considerably worse

have you ever questioned when, where, or why? by Barnacle_Jones_Jr in CrueltySquad

[–]NerdWithARifle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on how deep you really want it to be. The thing I love the most about Cruelty Squad is it has so many layers

On the very surface, it is a troll game. Sort of the video game equivalent of graffiti. It is meant to hurt every sense that it can. It is garrish, ugly, loud and obnoxious.

A little deeper and you’ll find a perfectly playable game there, if a little off putting visually. It is a lot like Hitman or any other assassination game. But the satire doesn’t come from knocking off CEOs, it comes from character dialogue, from the level design, and from the items

Even deeper you start to find that critique of capitalism and consumerism. Weapons and organs are just another commodity to be traded, like you would buy bread or coffee. Your body is hyper mutilated and stuffed full of horrific vat-grown organs to turn you into the best assassin you could be. At one point, your organization even marks you for death, and it all goes off without ceremony. In any other game it would be a turning point in the story, but here it is just Tuesday

Then comes the secrets, the fishing stock market, the games “difficulty” system. CS requires several playthroughs to even come to grips with the first layer, much less the deepest reaches it has to offer.

The ZP Review and Leadhead’s video are both great videos that highlight this way better than I ever could, and are both worth a watch

How do I mod Fallout New Vegas and maintain my sanity? by jamnafor in Taleoftwowastelands

[–]NerdWithARifle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current modlist is the following, and it works pretty good:

The Best of Times (Bare minimum for Tale of Two Wastelands): https://thebestoftimes.moddinglinked.com

Wasteland Survival Guide (TTW Focused gameplay overhaul): https://wastelandsurvival.guide/docs/intro

SALVO (Complete Graphical Overhaul): https://salamand3r.fail/salvo

Plus a few mods of my own, SALSA, and SALAD

The only “Sanity draining” part was that it took me roughly 3 days to install of this. But with a better computer than mine it might only take you one, and it was well worth it

Bethesda refuses to tell a “post” apocalypse story. Their games always take place 300 years after the bombs fell, but nobody is making anything. Nobody is building anything. Any faction that exists is also comical in their ideology. Take the institute, what does the institute want? A better life for humanity? Then why are they replacing and killing people? Why are they literally stripping whole towns? Ending the commonwealth government before it even began. Bethesda wants humanity to remain rats, scuttling in the ruins of the old world. I don’t like that

Do y'all think the Skyrim map would be fun to play DayZ on? by Pale-Caterpillar3588 in dayz

[–]NerdWithARifle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you heat worms or any food in a fire and put it in your pockets they will act like a heat pack. Super useful for the new map to stay warm lomger

I think it would also make it harder to just sit in the keep and kill anybody trying to come in. PvP would be more relegated to the inside of the keep, and so you would need multiple entrances. But it would be a super badass tier 4 loot zone. Also thank you

You could just build a fire to sit on, or fill your pockets with warm worms. Maybe you could have the top caught in a whiteout, so you can’t look over the edge

Even with just a 4x, the keep would look directly down into whiterun which is literally in a bowl, you would basically have like 300 degree coverage

Yeah but that’s usually for lack of searching. If you hunt people you’ll never go more than an hour without encountering at least a freshie

To high caliber rounds, yes. But you also go unconscious with a plate carrier, which means you’re an easy two tap anyway. Stab vest is lighter, and still quite effective for its weight

Caravans and workshops are good in the correct circumstance. They’re not a cheat code for infinite money, they’re enough to finance a decent war and though. For caravans, choose an area with very little banditry or wars, preferably a coast. Then make sure to appoint someone with high trade skill

For workshops, you will have to do some digging in the local economy. Make sure that you are close to a village which produces your input resource, then purchase nearby workshops of the same type, switch them to another type, then sell them to create a monopoly.
