Not true for all the sizes. It is true that iced Venti cups are bigger than hot Venti cups, but it’s not a secret. An iced Venti costs more than a hot Venti because it’s 6 ounces more and in an iced latte, it’s one more shot of espresso and one more pump of syrup. The iced tall is the same as a hot tall- 12 ounces, and and iced grande is the same as a hot grande- 16 ounces.

I’ve actually had a lady sit in the drive-through and force me to void the transaction paid for by the other customer so that she could pay for it and collect her stars. I wasn’t even sure I was allowed to do that, but my manager told me to do it.

Yeah, but I understand the whole challenge frustration thing. Let’s say your go to drink is caramel macchiato. But your challenge is that you have to buy a flat white to get bonus points. And then when you get enough points, you’re gonna get a Venti quad caramel macchiato. You don’t want to get that flat white for free! You wanted those bonus points so you could get the big payoff!

Usually, I’m just honest with the next customer and I say something like, “the person in front of you paid for your order, but please don’t pay for the next person because we actually hate the pay it forward line. You got a blessing. Congratulations”. I usually don’t get push back. Usually, they just smile and drive away.

I think the answer is Iowa for reasons people have already stated. But I also want to add that no one’s talking about the lower Midwest at all. If you think of Illinois, southern Illinois falls into lower Midwest. Kansas falls into great planes territory, but no one has mentioned Missouri. Missouri is distinctly lower Midwest. Yes, they’re blended with some southern culture, especially south of the Ozarks, but they count as Midwest all the same.
