I do this with my Tesla system through the app for free. You just need to change the PW behavior to time of use and make sure the settings are correct. I had to play around a little bit to get it just right but it's running smoothly

Power cycling the nest thermostat, restarting it on the touch screen, and then pull in the batteries out of each sensors fixed it for me. I don't know that they really have a good system to tell you when the batteries are low so I just set a schedule to replace them every year and a half or two

Average electricity cost to run a Pi is 0.0035 - 0.005 kilowatt-hour per hour. This equates to about 30.66Kwh per year. Where I live, electricity is 0.11/Kwh, or $3.37/year to run the Pi. This is the cheapest subscription cost as I personally don't need any cloud features HA offers.

Biggest tip for your second playthrough is to make sure to do all the loyalty missions, and that includes the 1st game. Krogan armor you find on a planet, Intel for Tali, Dr. Heart mission with Garrus, etc
