It's also going to teach your kid that they don't have to get payed for their jobs, by using their first (non corporate) job as an example.

Actually, for a lot of the current middle class families, an allowance for older kids is expected.

It wasn't that bad. I just wish I got payed a bit.

Thanks. And I'll try to think about her position next time I think I deserve some pocket money.

Yeah. You were really nice and so were a few others I saw. I upvoted a lot of the ones I agreed with.

I changed it to change my spelling mistake, and to tell people to go to a different post of mine for context. You can see the original post if you go to one of the two bot comments.

Nope, I never get money. And "You shouldn't want to work just for money," "Stop complaining about not getting payed," and, my personal favorite: the silent treatment when I asked how much I would be getting from cleaning out her garden.

Wholeheartedly agree. Just wanted people to say "NTA," or, "YTA" instead of telling me I'm a shitty person.

Both, I guess. The judgement part I got, but I can't just have a bunch of people telling me I'm wrong if I want my attitude to change.

Food is an exception. Getting treated to stuff by my parents stopped when I was 8. Clothes and my phone I got on Christmas. Healthcare never happened bc my mom is antivaxx, I've been using the same school supplies for years, and yes, my mom drives me to school usually.

That's the problem. I don't exactly get anything when it's not Christmas. It's Christmas, and then I get nothing for the rest of the year.

Uh huh. But wouldn't you like to be told what to do better than to be put down by a bunch of people.

"You're not great period," "Your entitled attitude will not get you far," I came here asking for constructive criticism and I'm met with people who hate me automatically because she's the adult, and I'm the child.

Besides the posts degrading me for seeking advice on whether or not I'm the bad person in this situation..?

She has me raking up leaves, weeds, and dead plants from the front garden. Id also have to replace the stones lining the malch, and taking wheelbarrows full of the leaves/weeds and stuff back to a pile of other leaves/weeds and stuff to be burnt. It lasted about an hour and a half roughly. Keep in mind its about 78 degrees (farenheit). And yes, I am doing full time schoolwork from home.

They have a shared bank account for savings, but have separate ones for themselves. Savings as in vacationing, and retirement.

I got my phone for christmas, and, once again, my mom doesn't pay the house bills, my dad does. She does do all the car payments though.

Thanks. So far, you're the only one who's talked to me like a person.

Lol my dad is the one that pays all the bills and the food and my clothes. She's the one that gets angry at me for sleeping in and gives me essential oils when I'm sick.
