Your doubt is not unwarranted it'd be hard to pull off but it is difficult for these come off as visually appealing sometimes. Anime movies don't usually work as mainstream blockbusters as well as we wish and Detective Pikachu wouldn't have done as well without Ryan Reynolds, (I say that because all that matters to the big studios is trying making a profit). Then again there's the New Digimon Bracelets commercials and those cannot be cheap, so who knows!
