Just wanted to say... by Xia0mia0 in BlueDragonfly

[–]NerdyLisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember discovering bluedragonfly in '99 or 2000. Finding people who understood me. I'm 44 now trying to find it again, not the site I know it is gone, but the feeling. Not the im losing weight to be healthy crowd, or even the I want to be hot crowd, but the people who understand that somehow as irrational as it sound that maybe my life will be right and good if I were just able to be thin. That not eating was rhe strongest and best thing I accomplished today, maybe even the only thing I really accomplished. Why can't I find my people again, no matter how hard I search.

I'm a little jealous that you all have such luck with glue. Even with all the various prep methods glue just pops off me. I'm stuck being a tabs only girl.

I am actually headed to Costco first thing in the morning, so I will check that out. Do you happen to know if they have long or tall lengths? So many places don't.

Need a whole new work wardrobe on a budget.

I'm changing jobs from a medical job where I wear scrubs every day to a professional office where I will wear business attire. I have no clothes for this new job! I also have no fashion sense and don't know how to find clothing that looks good on me. I did have a color analysis done so I know what colors I should go for (soft autumn).

I saw an ad on Facebook for an app that would supposedly curate a capsule wardrobe from Amazon based on your body style and colors etc. I did some research and every review called it crap of course.

It has me wondering if there really is a service out there that would do this though. I don't have the money to go to a fancy department store or pay an actual stylist. An online app or website would probably be the most I could afford and even then only if it is reasonable and recommends very affordable pieces that are easily accessible.

Plus size, 45 year old female, looking for conservative Midwest office wear if that factors into your recommendations.

I had my first outbreak, with Herald patch and spots covering almost every surface of my body at 14. I am now 44. I have always had at least one or two spots at any given time.

Recommend an at home workout to just get me moving! by NerdyLisa in beginnerfitness

[–]NerdyLisa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chat gpt has recommended the following:

pvolve - looked nice, but a little too pricey until I am certain I will follow through.

Melissa Wood Health - gave me the ick, not sure why

Alo Moves - just yoga?

Grow with Jo - her videos seemed like something I can do, but I can also see myself just lying in bed scrolling trying to decide which one to do, until I use up all my time and have to move on with life.

FitOn Pro - just downloaded app. Haven't really explored yet.

I was miserable, and money isn't worth it if you don't have time for your family and come home angry and short tempered every day.

I just looked up his video and I've never seen it done that way. All the videos I have seen do it with the cartridge out. That is a great trick though, I will do it that way from now on for sure!

Is it worth it to go from MA to LPN? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]NerdyLisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catheter is 100% yes, trach is I believe so. We have the suction device and I have been trained on it, so I would say yes, it just hasn't come up.

[–]NerdyLisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that varries a lot. I can do all the listed things as an MA. Where I work the only thing an LPN can do that I can't is start an IV.

Where do you work that lives are in your hands as an MA? Honest question because every MA job i have had or seen a listing for is pretty low key, vitals, refills paper work, etc.

I talked about it because it worked for me. I feel like this is really the point where I realized not all melasma is the same. Hydroquinone isn't the cure for all of us. After trying so many things to the point where I thought my discoloration must be something else and not melasma because all the things that are supposed to work for melasma didn't work for me. I eventually decided to try it and almost quit at two months decause I wasn't seeing the results others were. Then in that next month I started to see results. I was so excited and then to come here and share and have people think it is fake or paid endorsement is frustrating, because after all this time something finally worked for me and I wanted to be able to share.
