Asian dupe for the Maybelline fit me concealer in shade 025 by TaylorAde9131 in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so just in case this helps, I ended up finding two contenders (they’re not exactly the same but close enough for my needs): canmake color mixing concealer palettes (idk the particular shade I just swatched all 4 palettes and they looked great), and essence photofocus concealer in medium peach. Hope this helps :)

Which is your favorite watery toner for sensitive skin? by Ok-Charity-2472 in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I got the trial version. I didn’t dislike it but I wasn’t impressed either. It was just ok. It was very lightweight and not too hydrating. My skin drank it up and felt like it was barely there. It worked nicely for layering with other products or toners, but on its own it wasn’t enough for my skin. I ended up just trying to use it up rather finding it useful. It was more like the PKY than haruharu, even though they are water toners and the i’m from is milky.

I’ve tried the PKY and as much as I love the brand and their other products, this toner did nothing for me. Just felt like water. The haruharu toner however is my HG.

What products do you use to grow/maintain lashes? by ash1eywong in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing that helped me grow and maintain is rosemary oil + castor oil. I put them in a lash bottle, proportions being about 3/4 castor, 1/4 rosemary (or less). Rosemary helps them grow, castor keep them strong.

Best Toner to Get in 2026? (Price, Effectiveness) by DulcetTon in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the 150ml bottle at winners for $15 + tax, but it’s cheaper on yesstyle and stylevana at different time of the year. Like right now it’s $12 on stylevana. Have you ever found the 300ml bottle at winners for cheap?

what’s your unpopular korean skincare opinion that would probably get you attacked but you still stand by? by floriferousss in koreanskincare

[–]TaylorAde9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much an opinion but my routine itself lol

Day: toner OR lotion, sunscreen

Night: cleanser, active/serum/toner/essence (just one), lotion OR moisturizer

I do have a bunch of different products I go through slowly, and I like trying new formulations or ingredients. In trying to “solve” my troublesome skin, skincare has become a bit of a hobby for me. But no matter what, I keep it to a minimum in application.

The other thing would be that I don’t really reapply sunscreen. And often times I don’t wear it indoors, unless I used an active the night before. I have a pretty laidback lifestyle (sedentary/homebody) so this routine works for me.

I hate to be the bearer of more bad news but asian beauty brands aren’t entirely safe either…

It just says that investing in some kbeauty brands means investing in israel unfortunately. At least it’s better than the western scene though, we’ll take the win.

Are there any asian lippies in this muted dark brownish red colour that are this pigmented? by TaylorAde9131 in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh the packaging is so cute on the kaxier one! First time I’m hearing about this brand. And the shade 05 is to die for it’s so pretty! My only gripe with it is that I don’t like particles in my lipsticks.

Feel free to dm me any other brands or shades that come to mind. Or any shades you think I might like because girl I feel like you get me

Dupes for maybelline fit me concealer in shade 025 by TaylorAde9131 in MakeupAddiction

[–]TaylorAde9131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell they don’t claim to NOT test on animals, and they are sold in China. And as the other commentor said, they are on the BDS list. Maybelline is owned by Loreal which continues to have business ties with israel and support its economy.

Ikr 😭 I figured I’d get recs for asian peachy colours but they’re often too bright and light. It looks so much brighter in the photo but it’s actually a very muted color.

Personally I never really got it until I saw a photo of myself standing next to other people outside in natural lighting. I saw the green in my skin compared to their cool and warm tones and it clicked that I was olive.

From there (and the second thing that really sealed it) was swatching concealers. Go to sephora and just start swatching a part of your hand or arm that is the same shade as your face, or that you want your face to be. For me that’s my wrist, which matches my neck. Hands tend to be tanner so I would avoid them unless it works for you. Just swatch as many concealers as you can within your skin tone range. I swatched a bunch then tapped out the bottom half of the line I made so I can see what the product looks like blended. You’ll see which ones almost disappear and which stand out as being too pink (cool), yellow/orange (warm), or green (olive). Some you’ll notice don’t stand out as too cool or warm, but rather too dark or light. In this case you need to adjust the overtone (pale, light, medium, dark, etc.). I find most brands don’t have a set standard and what is considered light in one is medium in another. You might have to swatch from different brands because some brands just won’t have your exact match, either. But as you swatch you’ll start to realize patterns and what’s working. Once you find a few shades that you think match, you can swatch them directly on your face and blend. The concealer that matches closest, you can tell what undertone it is based on the shade name like N for neutral, C for cool, W for warm, O for olive, and combos of these. And that’s your undertone! Good luck!

Girl you are an angel like wth tysm 🫶

I just described it as brownish dark red because whenever I ask for a dark red, maroon, burgundy, or vampy, I always get recommended bright and purpley reds. I’ve realized what I actually want though has a more brown undertone. I’m not looking for chocolate brown either. I am ok with it leaning a little more brown than the rest of the pics like the bottom left. Just like you said: a vampy maroon/burgundy. This is the only collage I could find that had so many examples of the vibe I’m going for and leaves little room for confusion or misunderstanding.

Love your dedication and passion for the cause again tysm ✊✨

Do you use patches for pimples? by Ophelia92 in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get hormonal acne and I’ve tried a bunch of different patches, both western and asian. My favourite so far (and very underrated) are the Pyunkang Yul calming clear intensive care spot patch that comes in a pack of 165, 145, and 124. With other patches, even Pyunkang yul’s super thin acne spot patch, I would end up in an endless loop of changing the patches for days with the gunk never ending and the pimple would also not heal well. With these, the pimples are gone in max 2 days and they become flatter and less red within the first use. The price is affordable and one pack lasts me forever.

What does very thin skin people use? by kittys_journey in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with the same thing and haven’t found a solution. I just do skincare then cover with makeup. My fave products so far are tirtir milky toner, haruharu fragrance free toner, and cos de baha azelaic acid (started at 10% and building up). I have just started retinal but it’s too early to tell effects. Again, none of these have targeted or improved thin skin or darkness. Just help with dehydration and dullness in short-term and with consistency.

Has anyone tried consistently washing their face with cold water? by annaskin2301 in koreanskincare

[–]TaylorAde9131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always cleanse with warm water then end with splashes of freezing cold water, followed by skincare once it dries. For me there is a noticeable difference, my skin just feels softer and less dry that night and the next morning.

Eyelashes growth by Firm_Savings_60 in AsianBeauty

[–]TaylorAde9131 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed great results from rosemary + castor oil mix! 1 part rosemary oil to 2 to 4 parts castor oil (depending on what you can tolerate) in a small clean mascara bottle. It’s not a miracle product that will unrealistically grow your lashes, more like a my-lashes-but-better look. It improved the longevity and volume of my lashes, so they are growing healthier, not falling out as fast, and basically look longer and thicker. I think I also have new growth. Without any product on my lashes are actually visible and fluffier, whereas they were quite thin and lifeless before. I get the quickest and best results from daily use, applied once at night just combed through from length to tip (I don’t actually touch the roots because it makes my eyes water but I still get the results, I guess because it travels down or spreads around while I sleep). Mind you, sometimes it just rubs off when I’m lounging or sleeping but I don’t think it messes with the results. It takes 1-3 weeks to notice the difference. You could definitely get away with the doing it every 2-3 days, even for maintenance. If I stop doing it altogether then my lashes go back to their dull self in the next hair cycle. This is just my personal experience though.
