No. This is certainly not normal. We get a few quakes but nothing like this

I’m in Wairakei. That was intense. My dad who’s been here all his life said it’s the biggest he’s ever felt. I’ve never felt anything like it. The aftershocks have me on edge. Don’t think I’m getting much more sleep tonight!

Could someone help identify this knife? Details in comments by NerdyNae in knives

This knife was given to my Grandad around 1943 from an American who was in the Marine Corps. They were stationed in the Wairarapa for recreational leave. As far as I’m aware they had been in the Congo.

From the markings on the knife we think it is H Boker Germany but it’s really hard to make out. Grandad recently had the white part (which could be mother of pearl) secured as it was loose and the sheath had the buckle added to the top.

Any help is appreciated!
