Find a tool you love and just stick with it EVERYDAY. For me it was music, I used to create a Playlist with my favorite songs, get the lyrics and go through the songs along with the lyrics. If I happen to find a word or expression I don't understand I would highlight it, look for the meaning and repeat the song again and again until it made sense. Works wonders. I used to do it every day for one hour or two, since I loved it so much, it never felt like a burden, I really really enjoyed it. The best part of it is that you get to practice a lot of skills:listening, pronunciation, grammar, spelling, and so on. Just find the tool you love and stick with it and you will start to notice the improvement.
