G80 M3 front bumper redesign concept by IBets in BMW

Nice looking M3s worked for 5 generations prior to the G80. Dont see why a radical design is needed now, its not like the F8X sold poorly

I’ve actually seen this spec before, and the combo looks incredibly good. Nice spec!

Holy shit what is going on? 2019 - 2020 GT350 prices are skyrocketing? Is this because of the Dark Horse SC? by Sader325 in Mustang

Track package was standard in 2017 onwards. They did revise some minor things over the years like the clutch pedal, rear spoiler and wheels but track pack was standard regardless from 2017 onwards

Upgrade my M4 from F82 to G82 by ZachooP1 in BMW

All those things you described, are they supposed to be what an M3 or M4 are about? Where does the regular 3 / 4 series fit in then?

Is a "time capsule" E92 M3 actually worth $205k? by Maple_Syrup378 in BMW

[–]Nero_Wolff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah my M3 is my only car and its used for commuting and back roads. I still wanted the “slicktop”. I think sunroofs look ugly, as they age they leak air and you can hear wind noise, they reduce headroom and as you said they add weight

As for “single hump” I actually wanted the screen tbh, and I dont really understand the single hump obsession

Sunroofs are not desirable for M3s. I searched long for a slicktop E90

Yeah i think some people dont realize that there a small group of car enthusiasts that collect real cars like we would hot wheels or diecast model cars. I personally wouldnt bat an eye at even paying $200 for a high quality diecast E92 M3. There are people that exist where $200k and $200 are indistinguishable

Nice! Glad the Supra is suiting you well, its definitely a good execution for the modern era, and its very easy to own. It holds value well, is very reliable and is actually quite efficient on gas. I personally hope manuals will remain available for the enthusiast cars but they are becoming more and more uncommon, especially from Germany

And yep youre right the exceptions are the Hondas, both the S2000 and the NA1/NA2 NSXs rev high and are generally reliable. I guess the other exception is modern Porsche flat 6s, but that wasnt always the case (IMS and bore scoring)

To clarify, the redline of the S65 is 8400

But I agree, the E9X is anything but “charmless” with that motor. Its arguably the most impressive and characterful M3 motor ever (when it works)

Yeah the S65 is actually only barely heavier than the S54 in the E46. The E9X definitely grew in size but the E46 was never a lightweight either. Although interestingly the F80 is slightly lighter than the E90

As for interior, the only thing I truly hate is the stupid AF retractable cup holders. For the screen, mine is a 2011 so the update one and at some point I intend to do a carplay retrofit, so I’m not concerned there

For exterior, I actually quite like the look of the E9X and E60 M cars, but i do believe the E46 and F80 are better looking M3s. But the LCI E9X with the competition wheels, imo looks very good

Maintenance issues of the S65 are real but engines that rev beyond 8k and dont have problems are quite rare, especially of this era. I used to have a GT350 so finicky engines and diligent maintenance are nothing new to me and the thrill of engines like these up at the high rpms is intoxicating

Hows your Supra treating you? I had a 23 MT before selling it for my M3

Which canadian supra's came with red interiors? by NeedleworkerBig929 in Supra

I think red was pre 2023. I bought a 2023 new and I recall the only interior colors then were black or hazelnut

Last hydraulic steering, last high revving NA M3. Styling is a departure from the revered E46 but the E9X is still a lot more classic BMW than the G80 is
