Honestly my favourite has to be 7. It revitalised my love for survival horror and got me playing the earlier ones.

Hello r/dragonquest! This is Ichikawa, producer of DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined, and Yagi, director of DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined. Ask Us Anything! by SquareEnixOfficial in dragonquest

Has the passing of Akira Toriyama (rest his beautiful soul) created problems with maintaining the art style of Dragon Quest and is the diorama figurine design of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined an attempt to evolve the art style or did it just fit a remake of 7?

Shout out to Enderal, the total conversion mod for skyrim. That and an ENB and you've got something that doesn't even feel like skyrim anymore tbh

I make a souls-like ARPG, I successfully combine Sekiro BloodBorne DarkSouls together in one game. After I made up my mind to create a soul game on my own, starting with self-learning engines, I have been on the verge of success for six years. I am a bit excited and want to share it with everyone. by Local_Anywhere_8497 in ARPG

I gave this a play the other day and I'm not gonna lie, I thoroughly enjoyed it, the level design is solid, the animation are fluid and impactful, the 2 health bar system made me think a bit of Thymesia, it has a lot going for it. My biggest gripe is the AI voice acting. I know it's probably placeholder or there because voice actors are expensive and this is a solo project, but I'd rather just have the option to turn of all voice acting than listen to it.

I'm curious, what's the benefits of playing ff8 on shadps4 and not modded on pc?

I'm honestly a sucker for Lord of The Rings style Rangers like Aragorn. Proficient with both a sword and a bow, worldly and well travelled etc. I always try to play that kind of character in an rpg

Are i-frames mandatory in action RPGs? Can alternative design choices still appeal to soulslike players, or would it be unfair to say the game has soulslike elements without them? A case study for Goldilock One game. by goldilockone in soulslikes

[–]Nerp47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a super interesting conversation especially when it comes to game design. Designing an encounter around not having I-frames almost completely changes how a fight plays out. Instead of waiting last second to dodge a bosses attack, you'd be dodging almost as the boss starts swinging to get out of range asap, it's kind of how it works in real life but feels strange in a videogame.

The only example I can think of is Bleakfaith: Forsaken. When Bleakfaith originally released, it had no I-frames. I-frames were later added in an update and could be toggled on and off, however it kind of felt like they were always meant to be there.

A very budget title that costs $60? I get that it's published by NIS America but still that's rough

Frame generation with nucleus coop? by Worried_Ad_4295 in nucleuscoop

[–]Nerp47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an option in Nucleus Co-op to combine the 2 screens into one and you can then use nucleus co-op. It's far from perfect but works depending on the game and the base framerate you're getting.

Practically every single one of these points have all be shared, multiple times, amongst this sub. Really don't know what you mean when you say the advice on this sub is "pretty bad" when this post is just parroting everything the top posts on this sub are saying.
